I've never built a gliding rocker, so in this video I.m at school learning about them as I build a prototype. Actually, the prototype turns out well enough that I declare it to be a beta version, as I upgrade some of the wood to primetime standards. Hopefully next week we will build the primetime version, and it will be interesting to note any further changes to the beta version.

Looks great, would love to build a copy of this if there were detailed plans but understand that would take some work to create.

Thanks. Later I'm making a glider bench, with pull down center section for a good friend. However, before making the bench I figured I needed some practice, as I've never made a glider before. I figure that if I do a good job my friend might let me and her hubby run amok a couple of days this spring. Thanks for the view and the comment.

Memphis is just my KZbin handle, taken from one of my first passwords 20 or so years ago. My real name is Henri Chase, and I live near Myrtle Beach SC. I have a lot of videos, covering many things. Now I'm off to check out your channel. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Can you believe it? It is only Tuesday and I watched your video! Since it has been so "cold" up here, I am staying inside watching videos. What made you decide that you wanted a glider rocker. I have to say that they are one of the most comfortable styles of seating. It is always amazing how you design a project as you go along and build several prototypes along the way. The rolled slats make for a very comfortable and supportive seat. You gave a lot more pro tips in this video than usual. Was it because this was one of the first bottom up builds you have done in a while? These glider rocker videos might be your next viral videos. I watched Leo's latest this afternoon. It was very interesting to see them drilling those deep holes with the jig the fellow made for him. It seems that they have fitted that stern 10 times so far but I assume now that it is tarred and bolted, it is done. Next video ought to be interesting to see how this building party has come along. So what do you think? Was their nothing in the report? Was it blocked? Or, as some folks speculate, did Mueller farm all the indictments out to the state and district prosecutors? I hope you are having as cold weather as we are having so one of us would be happy! Hahahaha

Warning: I'm a little smart tonight. 1. I want to see the grades. 2. I want to see the tax returns. 3. I want to see the Mueller report. It won't happen in any logical way. Not with the orange clown in charge. Never thought I'd say it, but I'd take Bush the younger back for a third term before enduring another day with the clown in charge. But the worst part, and I've mentioned it before, is that so many Americans like the guy; they think he is a hero; they fully intend to vote for him again. I got off Facebook because folks told me that I, me, Memphis, Hank, CDR Chase, needed to educate myself on the issues!! You're not old enough to remember "The Twilight Zone," but I feel like I'm in it. Or the legendary little kid standing all alone on the side of the road saying " The Emperor has no Clothes." Emotional. We hopefully will see progress with the barn raising effort. Actually, I wish I was a few years younger to join in. But Leo is the only shipwright of the bunch, so I'm worried. Worried mostly for safety, as a bunch of rookies (and I would count myself with them) are launching into a very dangerous business. Not so dangerous for Leo, but for a rookie, well, I hope I'm wrong. By the way, if I could only be right 51 percent of the time, I'd be a millionaire on the Stock Market, so don't think I'm not cognizant of the weakness of my judgments. Hope you are right on those viral videos. I know you and I have been waiting for 2 or 3 years for us to go Star Trek. But remember, the single most important factor in success is "showing up." We will soon be launching our fifth year. Yes, our Freshman year in College. Fifty projects or more per year, real work, real finished projects; hopefully that will catch on with KZbin. KZbin has pushed a few of our projects (but not the best one's), but perhaps they will decide to push one of our good projects, and then, perhaps, Star Trek. I'm so smart now that I have to look at the keyboard to type. So, I guess I'll see you later, hopefully on Vulcan. PS, I made an Memphis Answers video on this. Do you think I should do more?

@@MemphisApplegateHow funny the we thought that "W" was so bad. One thing I learned working for a government contractor is to never wish for the upper management to be gone because the next one in his place is probably much worse. I think that you are right about the worst part about the fact that this person is "in our house" is that there are so many people who see him as a savior and see absolutely nothing wrong with anything he does. I very well remember the Twilight Zone and have said from the beginning that this whole scenario makes me feel as if I am trapped in one of those episodes. By the way, I don't know if you know it or not but Jordon Peele has revived the Twilight Zone. I may have imagined it one of the nights that I was really smart, but I think he said that he revived it because of what is going on right now. When I look at the people defending him while he is proposing cutting so many important things in this country, I am reminded of the quote "When they came for the socialists, I did nothing........." What is going to be the point at which they see it? Doesn't the one other guy from Great Britain also, at least, work in a shipyard? As always, I hope your worry is unfounded and nothing happens. In theory, these videos are at least a few weeks old when he posts them and he would not carry on as if nothing had happened if something catastrophic had occurred. His closeout of this weeks video sounded like the work was already well on its way so maybe it was a success. You are correct about showing up. That is what is frustrating about your growth. You are the most regular posting KZbinr out there. It is hard to believe that it has been 5 years. I know that I haven't been here since the very beginning but I know I came here pretty early in the Memphis Mondays if not just before you started the series. I think the first video that I watched in real time was the Molly Dollys. I did go back and watch all your older ones after that. Sorry I am chatty. I drank a 5 hour energy to get up the gumption to go walk in a bit. I like your "smart"' comments. I guess I can relate to the fact that you don't hold anything back like I do when I am "smart". The Memphis Answers videos are great. I hope you start doing more of them. Even if they are very short one shot videos. It is nice to hear a little more in depth description of parts of your projects.

I wish I did make plans, as folks do seem to want them. But I normally make "prototypes," which I then use as plans later on. Look around on the internet and I suspect you will find some good plans, however, just watching some of my other two glider rocker videos will probably help. Thanks for watching and commenting, and I'm flattered that you would ask about plans.
