15 Sheet of paper cut to 8.5 by 5.5 inches
2 sheets of colored paper cut to 8.5 by 5.5 inches
2 pieces of cardboard or chipboard cut to 4.25 by 5.5 inches
1 piece of cardboard or chipboard cut to .25 by 5.5 inches
1 sheet of cover paper any size larger than 8.5 by 5.5 inches
Glue
Paintbrush
Scissors
Waxed Thread
Large gauge needle

This is a great video and actually gives more information and measurements. I do have two questions tho. Can you use regular thread (that is all I have)? And does it matter what kind of glue you use? Thank you ~~

You can use regular thread but it might be a little weak. You can try doubling it up so that it will be stronger. The glue doesn't matter that much unless you are making a book you want to last forever. I just used elmer's school glue. You can buy book binding glue online or at art stores. I wouldn't recommend a glue stick as they are not usually sticky enough.

The comic paper is a color photocopy of a vintage batman comic I bought from a dollar bin at a comic book store. You can find a lot of cool images in all sorts of old books!

Sewing thread might be too thin but you could always try doubling it up for more strength. You can also buy a block of wax and rub the thread over it to help it slide through the pages better. I love to experiment with new materials and techniques and you might find a far better method than I've mentioned here.

This is a fairly general tutorial. You can use any size paper and just size up or down the cover and cardboard to fit. I've made some sketchbooks that are smaller than a credit card.
