I have thrown out half-finished slipcovers before, but you have removed my fear. I'll finally be able to make the quilted slipcover that's been in my mind for years. Thank you!

I followed your old video and covered a sofa, chair, and ottoman. Loved the directions. And still love my slipcovers. I did them in a white duck cloth. With two Jack Russell dogs the covers have had quite a few stains and messes. But, I simply remove the covers and wash with a small amount of bleach. They're in great condition. Today I am going to start a new set for the furniture downstairs. Also in white. Thank you.

I love that you shared your method of slip covering. I purchased fabric at least ten years ago with the intention of slip covering chairs and a sofa. The whole math thing just threw me off. I started your method and never finished. Hearing how you have made mistakes along the way has given me the courage to give it another try. Awesome DIY videos.

I must finished the "body" of a sleeper loveseat using your tutorial for my guide. Only the cushions to go, but so far I am quite proud of how it's turned out. Thank you so much for this excellent resource.

Thank you so much for an excellent tutorial. I have been looking for a tutorial for ages to cover a little nursery chair as I have never done anything more than a kitchen chair. I feel ready to give it a try. I’ll be keeping your videos for reference. Thank you so much.

I have upholstered seat covers and such... I employed a professional to do my slipcovers (I have cats). He had my fabric for over a year and did not even start the project and had an associate return my fabric. I am going to move and want my slipcovers done before I move in a month.... I'm going to do it. I have looked at so many tutorials and your method is more like I do things... I'm excited and think I can finally do it myself. Thank You!!! I'll let you know how I make out. I am covering really unique furniture (Delano Hotel in Miami ... high backs low seating)... so here I go!

This was a very fun video series and informative. It took a lot of the "fear factor" out of it for me. Now, to try!!!!

Great tutorial. A hint for your spilling pins. Try using a wrist pin cushion. I work with fabric making covered baskets and I'm pinning constantly pinning . It's faster, handier and a real life savour! Try it you'll like it and no more spilled pins!

Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for doing this tutorial, what a labor of love! And I love the tip about sewing backward on the ribbon when making the square- for some reason it just never occurred to me you could sew a long seam backward! So much better than awkwardly bunching the fabric up! I am definitely a cutting corners sort of person too- my grandmother was a wonderful seamstress and used to make tailored suits and that sort of thing but I just want to get it done. I would absolutely safety pin my cushion flap down. But you clearly have way more practice than I, I could never sew on a ruffle without doing a basting stitch and pulling the thread to ruffle it first to see how much length I will need- I just don't sew that much. So, if people have never done a ruffle before and need a little help figuring out the length, it can be really handy to stitch a loose stitch (basting on the machine) first and then pull on one of the threads to ruffle it. I have to admit in this case I do pin the ruffle on before sewing (full reveal-lol, otherwise I try not to pin). That way the ruffling is pre-done and you know your ruffle will come out even. And that you will like it. Then you can pull the basting thread out after (or sew on the inside of the basting and don't pull) and it will look all hunky dory. :)

Yup I did the piping on my cushion wrong. I made cuts so the piping would stick out to the side more like for going around curves. Okay I will remember this one. I did the envelope part right though. Woo Hoo.

Miss Mustard Seed, It is my dream to become a professional Upholsterer. Your videos give me so much inspiration and so much useful information thank you so much! I have a question maybe you could help. When I sew piping into my project I have a hard time hiding the previous stitches I made when stitching the cotton core inside. thanks again!

I thought the same. All that time watching those videos, and only showed parts of the chair for a few seconds! I have tried so many times to make slip covers for various pieces of furniture in my home...but I can't take it that it doesn't come out perfect. In each of the videos I have watched, they never come out perfect!!! I'm thinking maybe they only showed the parts that looked good in the video, and left out what may have looked bad. Just a thought. ;)

How did you get the seat cushion out of the pinned fabric so as to sew the slipcover? I would think the pins would start popping out if you tried to slip the cushion out through the opening on the bottom of the slipcover.

Well there are a few gaps that need filling in such as what happened to the miles of cording that we didn't see get pinned into the piece, but overall it's an excellent tutorial. Well instructed, fun music, fast forwards at the appropriate times. You have a great personality for this and I hope you are paid handsomely by your ads. Well done! (medium rare!)
