Please mention AMPERAGE(A; Currentin Amps/milliAmps) and Power(W[VA]; Wattage/milliWatt) = Volt x Amp And put a list of needed material, value/#/length...etc. and how much they cost, so a person can know if they can build the project or not. You do not have to talk or do video editing, just write a list on a piece of paper, and show labels/cards next to items showing name and value. for example, motor DC 3~6 Volts, metal hanger wire, copper wire gauge # xx, ...etc. Good luck.

@GManGT: It's not the author's issue, it's the embedded ads by Google! You should blame them, not him. To solve this, you need to get AdBlock Plus for FireFox and update the filters at least once a month or so. It works fine for me, saw no pesky ads anywhere. Good luck with that! ;-)

Keep in mind that most of the cheap multimeters (like yours) can measure alternative AC voltage with a frequency of 50 Hz. More expensive multimeters measure it up to 400 Hz. I'm sure your DC motor has more than 1000RPM. Try using some schottky diodes (don't even think of using 1N4007, they're not suitable for this application) to rectify the AC current you're generatig, then, filter it out with a capacitor and measure the DC voltage.

Design a coil using mini spark gaps then have a large vacuum spark gap at the center of the mini spark gap coil for the electrical frequency output. The spark gaps should increase the electrical frequency turning that little generator into something that could power a hybrid electrical motor on an electrical vehicle. 😊

Calling this device a generator is misleading: It is more like a motor-generator set, converting electrical energy to mechanical, and mechanical energy back to electrical form. This is how it was done in the 19th century, before tubes and transistors were invented to make electronic power inverters. It is the 21st century now, so show us a solid-state power inverter.

The DC motor is already a generator itself. You have magnets inside going around coils. Tell ya what ... jus hook up a voltage meter to the pos & neg terminals of the motor, give it a few turns with your fingers and see what happens.

DC motors are not a generators. Generator magnets are permanent and the magnets in a DC motor is electromagnets. They need electricity from a battery to create the magnetic field. Otherwise dc-motor would work without batteries.

Probably not, a motor of about 12-14V would most likely be a DC motor, and this device generates AC.

Yes, the array of ads is one issue! How to generate less energy from more is right since no system can be 100% efficient and may be considerably less. This setup produces a higher voltage than the battery and cannot be expected to produce high energy levels. One improvement I might suggest is to wind the copper wire on a bundle of soft iron wire so as to reduce eddy current loss. Having placed a load on the output, we should then compare input watts versus output watts and so determine efficiency. Before the days of semiconductor DC-DC converters, inverters and the like, this principle was widely applied to vehicle radios to obtain HT for valves/thermionic tubes from a 6V or 12V battery by mechanically connecting a motor at the battery voltage to a dynamo producing the high voltage.

Okay, so if you somehow manage to get (n)rpm manually and it starts generating power, so what if you connect the wire (of the coil) to the terminals of the motor, it will keep supplying the power to the motor and then it will go on?
