How to make a Softball or Baseball Home Plate Display Shelf for Game Balls or Rings

I made a home plate display shelf with a custom size. This video shows you how you can make one to whatever size you need, and find the sizes of each piece using some simple math. I' also show my measurements/plans in case you want to make one similar to this one.

The dimension shown 45deg is actually 135deg. It would be 45deg if you had a horizontal line. But, between the surfaces shown by the arc, that is 135deg. Anything aside, this video is excellent. I’ll be making a few for nephews next weekend. Great instructions. Thanks for making the time to share your knowledge.

Hi Butch. Perhaps the way I labeled it is confusing. What I meant was - Both of those boards get cut to 22.5 degrees, so that adds to 45. But ya the way I drew it I agree with what you stated.

Brother, I love that you explain the math behind this. I started looking at a home plate for a different purpose and was pleased that you could use basic geometry (hello Pythagorean theorem) to figure things out. I think I am gonna make one of these for my daughter, thinking an option would be a place to frame a picture in the middle, i.e. team picture etc.. that we get every season...

Ya my middle schooler was whining about variables, but it's probably the only math thing I actually use.... handy to find lengths of things you want to make...... :)
