I've been really looking forward to see a video like this from you. I liked Charlie Puth's new album too and I wanted to try to make my own song kinda inspired by his two tracks "Charlie be quiet" and "I don't think I like her". Thanks to you, Austin, now I know how to start.☺

Hey Austin pretty accurate result, love it so much, as a producer I think people would really enjoy looking you tracking the guitars on the video or standing up and playing with those beautiful synths u have on the background, also looking at you recording the vocals and harmonies, kind of Blanks or charlie TikToks, congrats :)

Lately Ive been trying to improve my mix on vocals to stop using presets and stuff and its the amount of things to know is just terrifying. Tere is too much different ways and plugings that people use and I literally don;t know what to put my hands in. My vocals just don't sound as good and professional as I would like them to be. Maybe it's my mic or -more likely- I can't mix. I wish that there were perfect plugins and good to go presets that would solve all problems. but since perfect things don't exist, I'll probably have to keep looking for combinations of plugins and their settings so that I finally like my vocals..

Yo Austin, a producer said he was using one of your synth presets called “Wide and Sad Pad.” He didn’t mention which pack its from though. Do you know which sample pack this is part of?
@MakePopMusic2 жыл бұрын
It’s actually a bass preset from a free pack we gave out yearssss ago. You can still find it in the All Urs download in the free section of our site! We also have a bunch of similar sounds in Poptopia and Spectrum!

What's the reason you drop the hats in the sampler track (instead of just instrument or audio track)?

How come you're doing mute automation on the fader instead of the events?
@MakePopMusic2 жыл бұрын
Muting post FX and post returns from reverbs and such. I'd rather just mute automation on a whole bus rather than every single synth track individually. Just chopping the event wouldn't get rid of reverb and delay tale (unless it was printed but most of this was still MIDI or audio with FX on inserts)

@LaurierLachance2 жыл бұрын
I’ve wanted a video just like this! Thank you 🙏 question: how much of this process would you consider mixing rather than production? In other words, if i’m producing but paying a mixing engineer, where should I draw the line to not waste time and money? (Of course, learning some basic mixing is incredibly useful for a producer. Just curious what you have to say about it.)
@ismaelsalguero83532 жыл бұрын
i think that the album CHARLIE has great production techniques, he takes them to the extreme, but the songs lack compositional depth, it seems to me that VOICENOTES is an unbeatable album in terms of songwriting.

@@MakePopMusic what's like the peak you get normally on ur mix and how loud do you master it too? sorryy i have so many doubts lol
@rishabhavvari1343 Жыл бұрын
like when i master it to -9 lufs it doesn't seem loud like the stuff on spotify, and often my vocals are quieter in the master than in the mix
@MakePopMusic Жыл бұрын
@@rishabhavvari1343 Oh for pop I'm almost always at least -7.5 and sometimes even -6. Vocals get compressed when mastering so maybe just make them a hair louder while mixing. Also, it's not just LUFS. Loudness can be perceived so if your mix isn't sounding loud, try and get your low end tighter and get more mids and high mids in the mix (these make something feel full and loud and they don't demolish limiters like low end)
