Thanks for the information - helpful as always. One thing I would mention: your voice comes through clear, but the volume is always extremely low. I usually have to pretty much max out my volume to hear your videos and when the ads come on, it blasts my speakers. If you're making a profit of $5 each book, how much of that profit will go to Amazon for FBA, in which case what is your actual net per book? It looks like Lulu has better paper selections. Now I am tempted to look into it more for my coloring books. I hate having to include a blurb in my KDP listings that people shouldn't use art markers in the coloring books.

Lulu definitely has better options - they have a thicker interior paper to choose from which might suit colouring books better.

Do they deduct from the profit you made, or they may charge you separately. That would be a great video. That would be a great video. Hello, superb video thank you, can you confirm if this information is still current (2023/24)? I'm about to publish a wire bound cook book (so it lays flat when cooking), I'm intending to sell it in the general Amazon market place with stock up front, not KDP, but it could well end up being better suited to KDP and will make the shift at that time. I'm still trying to find a good POD alternative for spiral bound books. Unfortunately, lulu only makes spiral bound bindings for soft cover books, there is no hard cover option. Additionally, they just offer a flimsy plastic spiral. I'm trying to find a POD service for hard cover steel spiral binding but seems like there is no option yet.

Yes you are one of most followed. I ran into a problem when trying to upload on lulu, it didn’t give me the option of spiral, and that’s the only reason for lulu, any tips as to why it would not me chose a spiral?

You need to make sure you have not selected distribution on Lulu if you want to print spiral bound.

From my experience, it is not possible to turn on ads for the entire category of books on Amazon FBA. You're welcome! You won't be able to put any links on your listing on Amazon. The only thing you could do is put a page inside your book to let people know there is a spiral bound version of it.

Hello! It may have something to do with the distribution. If you select to have Lulu distribute it, then it will only show the options available tot those distributors as they print the book not Lulu. If you chose to just have Lulu print and not distribute the book spiral bound should show up.

I'm not sure honestly, I've only had experience with KDP printing so far and on the Lulu website it says: "Sell your self-published book on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, the Ingram Network, and more. Lulu's Global distribution service reaches over 40,000 retailers and schools around the world." So I'm not even sure who all the distributors are that they work with as they don't list them all.

You're welcome! It would be really handy if Lulu did that but I'm not sure if they do. You would have to contact them and ask but because Amazon has specific requirements of how the products have to be packaged and labelled before being received into the FBA warehouses I'm not sure Lulu would do that extra work. The only way to know is to ask though, worst they can say is no.

I would say the paperback version isn't printed by KDP if it also has the option of a spiral bound version.
