There’s a way to prevent the Overload crash when changing the inklings hairstyle. You see, when you use $alpha on the string attribute, it causes an infinite amount of error messages to spawn in the command tab when no texture is imputed on the string. Instead, you’ll want to use $alpha on the “float” attribute. This causes no errors thus no overflows occur. Hope this helps you out! ^^

Here's my addition to this, basically, I can't stop the overflow, it just happens. So when it DOES overflow, I quickly press file, save, before I press "ok" on the pop-up.

When posing the limbs, you can hold Ctrl on the work camera and it will highlight all the bones and joints, then you can just click to activate and rotate them.

thanks for the help! I am new to SFM, so it will be useful for sure. Earlier I made such posters in garry's fashion but ... well, they usually came out very pixelated and it was also a very time-consuming game, so I decided to move to SFM, because I noticed that it is possible to make these posters in a much better quality . You can make actually make good quality posters in Gmod, you just need soft lamp and Photoshop.

Make sure you're doing it in the right order. Try to only link the head part of the models with each other, instead of the entire model. It's probably called bip_head.

You have to be in the motion editor. There are three buttons over the timeline, the second one is motion editor.

You have to add override materials. So when you right-click on the model, first add override materials, then go to element viewer and do the hair color.

hello i hate to comment again, but im having some problems with making my inklings eyes open. I did what you did, flip/slide the thing to open up the inklings eyes, but it wont seem to open up. I'm not the best at explaining but i didn't know if resetting my computer a few times would work. or i might be dumb and you have a video already discussing that. If you could help thanks a lot :D

What models are you using? Even with the new ones, it should be the same. Right-click and set skin.

Make sure you do it in the right order. If it still doesn't work, try to link the individual parts of the model to the clothes (arms, spine, hip, etc)

Hey I’m trying to put the record shop ep look shirt on my inkling and when I use the method in the video it goes to my inkling’s feet and jumbles in to a mess, I did it over and over trying to fix it and it wont attach to my character correctly, am I doing something wrong?

You could try to link the individual parts of the shirt to your inkling like I did in my old tutorial. It'll take longer, but it should work.

You either did something in the wrong order, or if not, you could try using the slow method by linking the individual parts of the clothing to the model, instead of the entire model. You could try to link the individual parts of the model instead of the entire thing at once. (arms, spine, and so on) I did that method in my old tutorial.

when removing the model's hair with $alpha, make sure you use float instead of string, because when you do use string it will crash way often. With float you won't as much, even better, you may not crash at all

You can still use SFM, but some things may not work properly. It's still very possible to make posters.
