Although I was very young when he was welding, I heard stories of him “just eyeballing it” and producing a great product in the end. A 500 gallon tank is not anywhere near 18 feet long. They're 120" long, that's 10 feet. Even a 1,000 gallon is not 18 feet long.

@@TOMVUTHEPIMP Just went to the shop. I was wrong, but so were you. The tag shows 500 gallons. And the tank is 14ft 9" long. Made 1954, Its not a fat as most are. Its longer and not as big around.
