I have one of these made from brass. I have had it for decades. Never though about making it from wood. Even better using a much smaller stock they would make great stocking stuffers. Literally I could make one every few weeks. Such fun. Especially if you start mixing and matching types of wood. Walnut, Maple, Rose Wood to make a neopolitan looking one.

Personally, I only adhere to the BLO axiom of one coat/day for a week, one coat/week for a month and one coat/month for a year and annually after that, when building furniture or gunstocks. That said, a most excellent project! thank you for putting this up!

Wouldn’t it be easier to measure the length along it and make them half then diagonal width rather than measure the angle? That way you can just make a grid along it evenly spaced

that is what I did for the first one then set the bevel gauge to that, but I know a lot of people will be asking me what the angle is so they can skip the step.

@@WoodByWrightHowTo It’s funny because you don’t even really need a bevel gauge if you just set up the grid….and you need the same locations in the grid anyways to know where the bevel gauge starts from. To be square, the root of what I’m saying is that using the angle leads to irrational results.
