@Tim ! sorry for the late reply, I have not received notification by youtube. Inductor is used to remove any noise caused by the high frequency PWM that is used for heating the iron. You can just remove it. It will still work.

This is great, I love it! I would like to add some extra buttons with preset temperatures. I have something like that and it's really useful, I set the first memory with lowest temperature that I'm able to solder, the second one with an other temperature a bit higher and an the third one with a really high temperature for de soldering components.

Dear Sasiskas great video once again but I need to alert you for a small detail: on both your schematics (this and the Hakko 900M tips one) you place a label on 2n2222 transistor as being a PNP and in fact the 2N2222 is a NPN transistor. I noticed the same on the Hakko 900m solder iron schematic. It's just a small note since the project is Awsome, congratulations.

@@TiberiusYulius you don't need to buy a new handle. Just buy a mercury tilt switch. It's all you really need. Regarding the number of pins that came with the preassembled handle, it doesn't matter. Because you are going to replace that with a new aviation plug that has 5pins

So you can't just use a JBC T245 handle. In theory you can adjust the software and hardware in order to use JBC tips. In order to do that you need to have a JBC hanle and tip though. Hi, Sasiskas. If I do this project on EAsyEda, may you direct me until I finish my Drawing, I've been want to do this project but is discourage myself to start it since I don't have any experience making pcb, instead if you may direct me if my PcB is ready it would be great. I am going to share with you my project and protect it of public. Let me know if you are able to, TIA.

I have a pcb design for Version1, but it is untested. You are free to edit it, on your own responsibility, because as I said, I haven't tested it. oshwlab.com/makgio/T12-Soldering-iron

@@sasiskas Thank you SasisKas. I have seen the PCB, is the version 1. Is seem all the net are corresponding to each pad number. But as I said, I don't have any experience. Well I am making in one single PCB. Thanks.

Hey! Nice video! I'll try it. I bought T12 handle. Can you please give me pcb no.1? in the files is only no.2 and rotary encoder. It would help me a lot! Thanks for respond. Like And I also saw that you have switched "npn" and "pnp" at your schematic. 2n2222 is npn and you have written pnp same with 2n2907.

Thanks for the comment and sorry for the delay, but some times I don't receive a notification from youtube. I have 1 pdf file with all the pcbs (pcb1, pcb2 and rotary encoder). Regarding the NPN andf PNP thanks for the feedback, I will fix it as soon as possible.

Your comment makes sense but there is no reason to worry. It almost never goes above 40degC. And if it does, the fan starts. So far I have managed to make it go above 40C only after using the iron at 300C continuously for more than half an hour.

In the begging I missuderstood you, because you used the word "polarity".I wouldn't call it polarity :-) Anyway, I've fixed it before even posting this video. I was just too lazy to film it again. Nice catch 👍
