@Tim ! sorry for the late reply, I have not received notification by youtube. Inductor is used to remove any noise caused by the high frequency PWM that is used for heating the iron. You can just remove it. It will still work.

This is great, I love it! I would like to add some extra buttons with preset temperatures. I have something like that and it's really useful, I set the first memory with lowest temperature that I'm able to solder, the second one with an other temperature a bit higher and an the third one with a really high temperature for de soldering components.

Hi. have already built the Hakko 907 soldering iron and i'm planning to go for the T12 one. Can i use a simple LM2596- 5V step down converter (witch i used for the Hakko 907 project without problems) in place of the isolated DC DC converter? Thanks.

Ideally you need both. But even if you don't use the B0505s you are going to be fine.

In your schematics, there are some wires that are drawn in thick red. Are these supposed to be done with heavier gauge wire? It seems like most if not all of that board should be done with heavier wires.

Dear Sasiskas great video once again but I need to alert you for a small detail: on both your schematics (this and the Hakko 900M tips one) you place a label on 2n2222 transistor as being a PNP and in fact the 2N2222 is a NPN transistor. I noticed the same on the Hakko 900m solder iron schematic. It's just a small note since the project is Awsome, congratulations.

@@sasiskas I disassembled the handle it seems only 3 wires are connected to the plug, it does not contain any sensors or switches, only a single capacitor between power connections. I think I'll have to buy the DIY set or the sensors separately.

@@TiberiusYulius you don't need to buy a new handle. Just buy a mercury tilt switch. It's all you really need. Regarding the number of pins that came with the preassembled handle, it doesn't matter. Because you are going to replace that with a new aviation plug that has 5pins

@@TiberiusYulius the handle that im using also uses an NTC for measuring the ambient temperature. Unfortunately I don't remember what's the value of that NTC so i can't tell what to buy. Luckily that NTC sensor is not really necessary. You can just disable that from the settings.

sorry for the late reply. It can easily handle 150W, maybe even more...I have never tested it though. The maximum power (W) is limited by my power supply. My power supply is about 80W , but if you want you can use a stronger power supply.

Nice choice for using vinyl. You really should add a fuse and electrically connect both halves of the case.

Thank you for the comment. There is a fuse on the power supply, so there is no reasons adding a second one. The bottom half of the case was connected to earth as you can see in the video. The top half of the case is connected to the bottom half via the screws that hold the two halves together (check with a multimeter). So there is a fuse and the entire case is earth protected.

@@andreiciora2765 these two components, are used in version 2. If you make the station using schematics and code for versions one, you will not have problems. Or you can build version 2 and disable mercury switch (sleep function) from the settings menu. Ntc can also be disabled from settings menu.

First of all congrats on another excellent project! Keep up the good work! I was wondering if this station would be suitable for the JBC T245-A iron? At 1:40 you provided some other options but without names and the picture in the lower left corner just reminds of a JBC iron...

Thnx. This station is designed for T12 tips, all the handles that I show in 1:40 are suitable for T12 tips. JBC uses different tips, which are not compatible with this station. So you can't just use a JBC T245 handle. In theory you can adjust the software and hardware in order to use JBC tips. In order to do that you need to have a JBC hanle and tip though. Personally I don't own a JBC handle so I can't help you.

I think it is pretty obvious but anyway.... iron(-) is the black wire and is numbered as 2. iron (+) is the red wire and is numbered as 1. earth (E) is the green wire and is numbered as 3.

Your comment makes sense but there is no reason to worry. It almost never goes above 40degC. And if it does, the fan starts. So far I have managed to make it go above 40C only after using the iron at 300C continuously for more than half an hour.

YEAH HE DID CONNECT A LOT OF COMPONENT ON A SAMLL BOX BUT I THINK IT'S SAFE CAUSE HE USE GROUND WIRE SO IT'S VERY SAFE EVEN THE SOLDERING HAANDLE HAS EARTH /GROUNDED SO EVEN IF SOMETHING FAIL INTERNALLY OR EVEN SHORT CIRCUIT STILL IT''LL BE SAFE
