Hello! i am so happy to find your channel. i just lost a dear lady who was 95 and so precious to me. I was able to inherit her handmade quilts, crochet and all her costume and some actual expensive Jewelry. She never had any grandchildren, just 2 sons. Only one still living and he was not interested in any of her things and does not live in this state. I really didn't have grandmothers, they both died so very young. So the Lord gave me this precious woman who loved me as if i was hers. I don't want to put it all away and never use it or see it. I want to do something very special with the jewelry and you have given me the perfect idea. I also want to make a few ornaments. Thanks again for sharing i so appreciate it. Patty, Boise ID

Hi Patty. I’m so sorry for your loss She sounds like a very special person indeed and you will honor her well by treasuring some of her collections. I love that this tree is a way to see the jewelry and potentially even wear again if you want. Good luck with the tree and ornaments. ❤️

Been planning to use my mom’s broaches (she passed 12 years ago) plus a bunch of other jewelry she and her sisters (my aunts) also left behind into a Christmas tree. This is beautiful and inspiring to me. Thank you for this video.

Stunning! I didn't even think about the fact that this could be done without hot glue. I'll have to invest in some greening pins. First time viewer from Australia, here. My local craft group has set a challenge for our members to make one of these trees this year. I can't wait to get started.

What a fun challenge! Good luck and I hope you have success with the greening pins. They were handy for me when I was able to temporarily remove a piece of jewelry this past Christmas and then replace it after wearing to an event. Cheers in Australia!!

Hi there Tammy! For this particular craft I only used rhinestone glue for a few items because I didn’t want to harm some of the jewelry. I have used stronger glues and epoxies for some of my other crafts. The ones you mix right before use are typically the ones I prefer. Thanks for watching!!

Nice video very informative but hot glue is a bad idea for these trees. As it ages, hot glue cracks, yellows & turns loose, it takes a lot of hot glue to hold pieces on the cone. Use a glue with outstanding strength which dries clear.

I will be using scrap jewelry - mostly vintage but also unsellable and unwearable. I collected rhinestones for years and also sold them. I sometimes bought 'lots' which often came with junk. I can't bear to throw them away so I just filled baggies with single earrings, fake pearls and beads etc. I have some flashy stuff but probably the catch doesn't work or it's missing stones etc. It kind of pained me to watch you use what looks like some vintage stuff that looked perfectly fine (people are back to buying vintage stuff). I'm going to make one before we move in the next few months and give the tree to my daughter. I may actually have enough jewelry for 3 trees!
@themadeupokie2 жыл бұрын
Wow! Your collection sounds amazing and I bet will make fabulous trees! Sorry I caused you pain with some of my dismantling. It was only to the cheapest stuff that I knew I would never wear again. I’ve actually been able to remove and wear some of the special pieces I knew I wanted to preserve by using the greening pins. Such an easy solution to attach, detach and reattach! Have fun with your creations. Cheers!
