Another great video, Where did you get the brown sheets on your heat press. The sheets i find online all have a weave pattern that imprints the kydex.

Wanting to try my hand at this. How much if any pressure on Kydex when heating in t-shirt press?

Slight pressure, you don’t want to stand on it to close the lid, just make sure you have the silicone sheet to protect the Dex from the heating element, I use two sheets, kind of like a Kydex sandwich, but you don’t have to. If you need short video I have no problem making one.

I have a customer that wants me to make him a holster for a rock Island armory 1911 A1 FS. I can’t find a mold for that gun. Do you have am an idea of who would have a mold for it? Thanks buddy and hope to hear from you soon.

Hey there! I have a question, what might be a problem if the kydex were to be molded on the actual gun? Or does a dummy model need to be made first? What about new guns that don’t have dummy models available yet? Thanks

If you have a real weapon use it, just prep it and make sure the mag well has a mag in it before you press it, you don’t need to overkill in the press, two 600lb clamps work perfect, once done you can test it with the real gun, which needs to be happen if you start offering more weapon models.

Just put tape over it the blue tape. I have never used a dummy and everything was fine.

Is that 1/8 wood you are using for retention area?

Danielshorsemanship on 1911 I use 1/8, all others 1/4, the trigger on the 1911 is thinner, I think it looks better, but then you run into needing thinner posts.
