That would make a lovely gift. You could add some fancy pins.

I have to thank you for the home made starch recipe to "glue" by quilt together without pins as well as the clever binding using the triangles in the corner of the quilt. Where were these 2 awesome things when I was in the thick of sewing quilts? Well, had to make another quilt after several years of not sewing and your ideas saved my worry about the last two details of making a quilt. Thank you Thank you!

Would be good to use a little bit of a nylon stocking from the foot portion to put the bedding in. Also for weight you can use pellets on the inside of the bottom of the cup or you could use crushed walnut then once you fill your circle and get it into the cup, Use E 6000 instead of hot glue. It will stay longer.

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes, having some weight in the bottom would definitely help (and why didn't I think of that as I have walnut shells?!!). Thanks for the tip with the E6000 glue - I do have this so could try it next time.

My Janome does a real nice basting stitch, how about yours? My hands shake, so do as little hand sewing as possible, except I hand bind my quilts with no problems. Very cute project.

Add a little weight (aquarium sand, rice, crushed walnut hulls, etc.) to a tall cup like this one. Less easy to tip over. Because there's a potential for the stuffing to come out of the pin cushion, finish filling the cup with batting, up to where it will meet the bottom of the pin cushion. This also adds a bit more weight, if desired. Can't have too many pincushions, decorative and/or functional in a sewing shop!

How do you know what size you want for a circle?
@Chatterboxquilts10 ай бұрын
I measure the top of the cup and then multiply that by about 2 times as it will gather in quite a bit.
