Thank you so much for all your great tutorials! You have been a great help. I am learning so much from all your demos. I read below that you said a little royal icing would work for these letters to stick to the cake. Does that mean, they can't be used on buttercream if I don't use pop sticks?
@krazykoolcakes8 жыл бұрын
+toyshopper1 My pleasure! Thanks for watching and glad you're enjoying them. :) You can also adhere these toppers to the sides of a buttercream cake with royal icing. That is of course if your buttercream is a nice stiff consistency. If it's very moist and it shifts, then you may have trouble. The lolly sticks would only be used for both fondant and/or buttercream cakes if you want them to stand up on top of the cake. I hope that helps. :)

Can water be used instead of glue or do we need glue and what kind? Btw Love it! Im using this for a clients baby shower cake.
@krazykoolcakes5 жыл бұрын
I recommend using edible glue. You can find our tutorial in our KZbin channel on how we make it. It's VERY easy to make. Water "can" be used to glue moist fondant pieces together but it's not AS strong as edible glue. For something that's going to be laying flat on a cake, water is fine. But, if you'll be making 3D cake toppers that have structure and need the places glued to be strong, I recommend not using water, but sticking to edible glue. Hope that helps and thank you for watching! :)

Hi Laura! First I just want to say it's insane how amazingly talented you are! Second, I wanted to thank you for all the videos you share. They really do help in so many ways. I have learned so many different things from your videos :) I do I have one question that I ask myself every time I watch your videos. You've probably already answered this question and knowing me, I missed it. Why do you use gym paste for all your decorations and not fondant??
@krazykoolcakes9 жыл бұрын
Keri_MommyOf4 Hi Keri! You are very kind! Thank you for your sweet words. :) I like to use gumpaste because it is much more pliable, firmer, holds its shape better, and has less cracks and wrinkles than fondant. God bless! :)

Wow!! How Wonderful!! How big are your cookie cutters? Is it a 3 inch or 5 inch in length? Does it mention depth?
@krazykoolcakes10 жыл бұрын
Hi Erica, These are 4" cutters in length plus they are 0.5" in depth. :) You can use whatever you have on hand however. ;)

I do see you mentioned standing them up on the side of the cake. They could probably be stood up on the top of the cake if they had skewers inserted into the bottom of the letters.
@krazykoolcakes7 жыл бұрын
You stand them up stuck on the side of the cake with royal icing. :)

Are these designed to lay flat on the cake or stand up? Amazing tutorial btw :)
@krazykoolcakes9 жыл бұрын
Thank you! :) They're designed for both actually. If you'd like to stand them up , you simply need to stick a lolly stick or skewer in each letter before it dries.
@Bimpstar10 жыл бұрын
Absolutely love this! Thank you for such a great tutorial! How did you get these to stick on a cake? with toothpicks or? xx
@krazykoolcakes10 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! Royal icing will be more than enough. :)
@GACgirl040610 жыл бұрын
so would these stand on top of the cake?
@krazykoolcakes10 жыл бұрын
These can be stand up on the cake by adding skewers into the bottom of each letter, or they can be royal iced to the front of any tier like in this baby shower cake: Teddy Bear Themed Fondant Baby Shower Cake!
