I love making bags and pillows! On the inside bottom of each bag that I make, I sew in Plastic Canvas. It gives it some stability plus it can be washed with no problems at all.

This why I LOVE watching you YT videos. You make it look so simple to make. I need a bag for getting material etc. when I go shopping at the Quilt Shop. Do not need any more plastic bags. I will cut and do some of the before work tonight and finish up the bag Sat. my reg sewing day for me. I made your large tote with round circle handle for my son's dog to put is toys in. I have made several totes with KZbin tutorials and Laura's instructions are the best by far! She explains everything in detail, leaves no guess work. Every piece comes together like magic. Just love this bag. I added the 3 section pocket as well al an outside pocket. The material is a Autumn fabric. Can't wait to wear it. Next I plan to make the Scrub Cap to work in the garden to keep all the bugs out of my ears. Very clever pattern. Thanks Laura.

Great tutorial, as always, and I immediately fell in love with the fabric. 🥰 Have to order some, to make a cover for my Bernina. And my Brother. And my serger. These are going to look super pretty in the sewing room. For the tote, I‘m going to use canvas-y fabric from IKEA. They have a good choice, at least in Germany, and the fabrics are sturdy and not very expensive. These will make nice presents for my friends. Thanks for this lovely tutorial. 👍🏻

I learned a lot making this tote. The instructions are very good. I would add that it is best to baste the area where you match the two outside pieces if you have used a top trim. Otherwise. Due to shifting of fabric on the machine the two seams of the top trim may be off a smidge. I found getting these seams matched difficult. I have made 4 bags so far as gifts.

With the tape measure fabric cut longways, you always have a tape measure with you (for measuring fabric and quilt blocks, of course). 🧵✂📏

Really versatile bag. Was disappointed that the link to the fabric is for wholesale purchase only😓. Researched the fabric for retailers. Found several and the prices that were on a wide pricing scale. Priced at half yard values. I understand that is how it is sold by many on line sellers.......however that’s still quite a high per yard cost to the average sewer.😓 The bag is a good size. I will be using alternative fabric Sewing related print I found at another retailer.....though I would love to use the design you used. Thank you for sharing. 🥰

Hello Laura, would you please do another tote bag tutorial using Northcott's free "Chelsea Versatile Tote Bag" pattern? I do not understand the pleated pocket instructions, and no one seems to have ever done a tutorial for that specific bag!
