I made a sump pump alarm using a cloths pin, you have one thumbtack with the flat surface on the inside and the other the point. you place an aspirin between the flat surface and the point. You then attach it to a piece of wood and lower it into you sump pump well above the water line. If the sump pump fails the water rises, dissolves the aspirin, the contacts touch and set off an alarm. Its saved me from a flooded basement more than once.

+ MrMaestro14231it is a mixture of match heads and the red phosphorous from the boxes striker. When mixing them together in a one match head powdered and half that in red phosphorous with a tiny drop of water to make a paste. But in its powder form it is highly susceptible to shock forces and will explode/ignite. These are great for a rocket motor starter, fireworks, dynamite, or whatever needs fire to ignite its fuse or combustible material. Handle it carefully when a powder. If you strike it with a hammer it explodes.

The idea isn't simply setting off the flammable material at the ends of the leads. You can connect something else to the leads to send an electrical signal to trigger another device once the trap goes off.
@johnelliott71232 жыл бұрын
You're ALL missing the point! Once the wire is tripped and the contacts touch each other, the small fire causes heat, which is attached to a thermal resistor, which will then send a small electric current to a variable capacitor that has been connected in parallel to several smaller capacitors with different ohms, so the electric current can then choose which path has the least resistance and if you choose, you can put a day/night/thermal transmitter that is connected by bluetooth to your cell phone and can simultaneously dial your number as well as 911. Don't forget to connect the game camera set on either video or flash pictures for evidence. If your property is vandalized often, ensure you have at least 100 GB card and if your card can connect to satellite you can be sleeping anywhere and the signal can be sent not only to you, but to other agencies that might have concern that your tomato garden is under attack. This is how mine is set up. I love my tomatoes.

I could not believe how the alarm horn was so freekin' loud it was beyond my hearing range!
@glorybound75992 жыл бұрын
Replace the burning substance with either a 1.5 volt light 💡 or an audio buzzer or alarm 🚨. Or run a wire to a unit in your home that can be connected to a source that will alert you when the wire is tripped.

Used to make trip wire M-80’s using matches, match book striker and fishing line. Worked great until a park ranger tripped one

Use duct tape to tie a hand-grenade to a tree. Stretch the wire from another tree or peg in the ground to the pin... You can't miss hearing that!
@DDDSSDDDSSDDDSS4 жыл бұрын
You're supposed to pull the pin and put the gernade in a can.... amature.

Or, you could take a couple tin cans with some rocks placed into the crevice of a tree with the line attached. When someone walks through the line, the cans fall together making a noise. Works the same with grenades with the line attached to the pin.
@RightOne12 жыл бұрын
Hmm.. great idea. You could rig a bunch of empty cans to fall from 15 feet and create a wild ruckus. Nearly as good and cheaper than fire cracker attachment idea!!

A serious question here, how would I attach it?
@xcal_99_industries323 жыл бұрын
@Inkedoutmiss The proper way would be to use a battery tray. This product: www.amazon.com/LAMPVPATH-Single-Battery-Holder-Leads/dp/B07BXX62JF/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=battery+tray+1+AA&qid=1626159863&sr=8-8

Owell who cares, if you're not doing anything wrong then its a waste of their time! I used to think like you, but then realized...screw it. Who cares. "They" prob already invade our privacy and/or observe us in so many other ways. I'm here to make a trip alarm to catch some damn vandals!
@garynelson95384 жыл бұрын
No! This was "How to make an Incendiary Device", but he didn't want to say that due to it would have triggered a ATF's and FBI Algorithm, flagging him to their radar. Unfortunately we clicked it.

@MustangGuru6 жыл бұрын
This is nothing new, when I was in the Army we use this same setup but with flash bulbs from cameras. Took a speaker coil whinding and used for the trip wire as it is dark and not shinny. It works great. And used as an early warning device for when we was guarding our perimeter.
