How To Make A USB Dongle For An Original Xbox 2017 ATM Ep 1

Hey guys, welcome to the first episode of "All Things Modded". In today's video I'll be walking you through you step by step on how to create a USB dongle transfer cable for an original Xbox. The tools and supplies for today's build are cheap and can be found around the average house. Your Xbox does NOT needed to be Soft modded for this. Required Tools:
Female USB port or a USB extender of some sort
Spare Xbox Dongle
Scissors/Wire cutters
Electrical tape
Soldering Iron (Optional)
Lighter(Optional)
How to wire:
All the colored wires go get connected to the corresponding color.
Red goes with Red
Black goes with Black
White goes with White
Green goes with Green
SCRAP THE YELLOW

Please, get some heat-shrink tubing to insulate the connections (available at Harbor Freight and other places). Also get some small diameter solder; it will make soldering those tiny wires much easier. It is important to apply the solder directly to the connection while soldering; the rosin cleans contaminants off the surface of the wires.

Yesssssss it worked 😌☺️ I used duct tape an some other soft stuff to separate the wires and wrap everything up it actually works, and nothing is starting a fire

Great video quick question will this method work to control 360 slim console? I found a Xbox controller in my closet cleaning it out.

I have an original xbox controller and cannot find the usb, controller to pc dongle on ebay. I'm either over or under thinking something here. Ebay has the 360 controller adapters/dongle that look like they will work with an original Xbox controller, but I can't seem to find the info I need to be sure. Can someone please tell me exactly where I can get the usb adapter/dongle for an original, wired xbox controller to get me plugged to my PC?

Yes, and entire folder to TDATA folder without any modification shall play the music on another console if you copy it. Also music can be played on PC or any device that supports WMA audio format. Requires modded systems to get that to work

With these Xbox to USB adapters, am I able to hook up a PC controller to use on the Xbox? For example, the hori fighting Commander for PC and Xbox One. Will it work with the original Xbox if I use the USB adapter?

Lad i kind of need help, my female usb has the colours yellow, brown, blue and red.

Well the only true way to knows hat wires go with what is with a multimeter. However, I did find a forum that had the same problem. He had the exact same colored wires and this is what he figured out. Red goes with red. Brown goes with white. Yellow goes with green. Blue goes with black. I'm not entirely sure this will work, but it might. I hope it works though!

Pretty sure that's normal, just hit A continue and configure in memory settings.

did you format it in fat first not fat32 then plug it in let the xbox erase the memory before puting any files on it so its formatted to fat-x

+Sir Luna My guess is that you should be okay with using the yellow wire as the white. You should be fine, it seems the brand that you have might have used yellow instead of white

So I've got the Original Xbox cable all cut up, along with a female usb. They both have a White, Black, Green, and Red wire. However, the xbox cable has an additional yellow and blue wire. The yellow wire is worthless though, like you said. That means I have 5 cables from the xBox cable going into 4 from the USB hub. What do I do with the blue wire?

But what I just noticed is that where the cable connected to the wireless receiver for the controller, where the wires meet the little circuit board, the two black wires are soldered together so they meet together! What does that mean?

+Austin Ethridge I'm not entirely sure why there would be two, but if you say there both connected you should be able to keep going. I would just solder both of the blacks to the female USB adapters black cable.

What if i dont have a spare cord from the original controller. Can i use a unofficial controller with just a straight cord and cut off a piece without that thing in the middle ?
