How to Make a Vibrant Dried Flower Bouquet - Everything You Need To Know

In this video, I show you how I make a vibrant dried flower bouquet. I use the same technique I use for a fresh bouquet. As always, I start with foliage. I go with lindera and eucalyptus which dry well and remain sturdy over time. I then pick out dried flowers that best hold their color: sunflowers, larkspur, marigolds, ammobium, and statice. For fun, I stick some okra pods onto wood skewers to add into the mix. Bind wire keeps the bouquet together and I finish it with a craft paper wrap.

YES! I love using dried sunflowers in designs! They dry great and keep their color. It's important to take off all the leaves before hanging them to dry.

I've seen dried okra used before and think it looks awesome. However, I've never seen the sticks used to utilize the pods individually before this demonstration. Thank you for the great tip! I'm planning to grow some red okra next year for this purpose. Do you know if the red okra will hold any of its color after it's dried?.... Or if it turns out tan like the traditional green okra?

The red doesn't hold it's color. It will eventually look like the green does - white and gray striped.
