@@ellenfrostflowers It WAS helpful! I actually do have a topic that is of interest! Why do florists want long stem flowers, but most attractive arrangements have stems around 12 inches or less (in my personal opinion)? Is it for versatility in arranging? Can you explain and perhaps give a tutorial on how to make an attractive “long stem version” arrangement that has a similar fullness as the one in this video? I just don’t see many FULL long stem arrangements on KZbin and roses with baby’s breath or gladiolos in a spray are just not good enough for me. 😊💚

@@BBDD. This is such a great question. It's all about versatility! On any given week we may be making bud vases and huge alter urns. We're purchasing flowers to be able to everything on our plate that week. I have one video with a larger/fuller arrangement, but I'll also plan to do a beginners video on how to make a tall/full urn. Here is the one video I have of a taller arrangement. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fV7Uk4SOi9irfdksi=X5QBPZJQrLFKypyO

16 years. I am working on fascia release, rubbing feet with cream to create heat, stretching for at least 30 minutes before loading, calf raises 25 reps, standing only 3-4 times a day, toe yoga while resting, toe curls, toe spacers, walking on toes, calming down my hyperactive and insecured spirit, finding compatibility between my mom n dad becos my dad was sedentary and mom was hyper and hyper activities after rest is invitation to heel pain- activities shud be balanced wrt intensity volume and speed. Some days it really works 100% bt then i make mistakes. I have realized that moves shud be quantified and progress shud be very slow and loading shud be GRADUAL. This time i will give it 3 months to recover it for lifetime.

How long 'inches' do stems need to be when sold wholesale to florist
@ellenfrostflowers
@ellenfrostflowers Күн бұрын
For peonies, I would say 12-14 inches is the minimum. However you can always sell shorter stems for less money. Just be sure to let the florist know the length when you send your availability list. if you haven't watched my Flower Math Series with Jennie Love, check it out. We talk alot about grading and selling different length stems for different prices.

Hi. I got plantar fasciitis awhile back. It was brought on by walking around my house barefoot. Carpet kinda thin and concrete underneath. I bought the boot on Amazon and it fixed it in less than two weeks. I’m recovering now from Peroneal tendonitis! Uneven ground walking. Very long recovery due to misdiagnosis. Treatment is ankle stabilization brace similar to yours but more rigid. Best pain med was meloxicam. It’s not instant. A couple days after starting I realized my foot pain was greatly improved. Thank you for interesting video

Hi Ellen I started with this over a year ago , The pain was so bad like you I could hardly put my foot down . I am also on my feet all day so couldnt give it the amount of rest it needed. After a lot of Internet scrolling and testing lots of things people recommend what actually worked for me was 1. The exercises before getting out of bed , 2. Very good insoles VALsole Orthotic insole Arch suport (Amazon) Which I have in all shoes /boots and wellies (Flower farmer in England ...very wet😂wellies are my every day footwear) 3. And the thing I felt helped the most, sports injury tape ( There are some good youtube videos on how to strap your foot ) I never put weight on my foot without these 2 supports even if nipping the loo in the night 😂. It took a long time but it has now been clear for a couple of months . If I know im going to have a really long day I will still put the sports tape on just to give my foot extra suport as I dont want to ever get that back again .Thanks for all your videos they are very informative especially the series talking to a flower farmer, it was so helpful. Hope your foot recovers quickly. Gill

Ellen, I have had a lot of success easing overuse injuries with acupuncture. I get treated for my hands and elbows. I have had acupuncture treatment for plantar fasciitis before and the relief was similar to the relief I get in my hands. I don't understand acupuncture.... But when you hurt you will try anything to see if it works. It is worth a try!

Oh Ellen I feel for you! My sisters have had plantar fasciitis so I was so afraid of getting it too - and I did have a huge flair up of it. Some things to share from my experience. What started my flair up was playing pickleball on a cement surface for a couple hours. When I saw the floor of your shop I thought - yikes! Could you get more mats for where you walk around your shop in addition to the one you have where you stand? Cement is the worst!! Also - I discovered Oofos shoes - I have the flip flops and the slides and I really love the slides the most for around the house - I can wear socks with them too year round. I immediately felt relief when I put them on.

Thank you for the great video! How do you prolong the vase life of lilac, Ellen, do you split the stems? Thanks
@ellenfrostflowers
@ellenfrostflowers 17 күн бұрын
Lilac notoriously has a short vase life. I do split the stems by cutting an X up into the bottom of each stem. I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes, but I do it. Lilac are one of those flowers that I just accept will only live a short time in the vase. I love it so much I'll enjoy anytime i can. Do you grow alot of lilac? I think fewer and fewer people here are having good luck growing it because our winters are getting warmer and warmer and they really like that cold spell.

Thanks for the great intel! You’ve inspired me to go bigger with Solomon’s Seal. I love growing Bells of Ireland, but as a grower i cant seem to make money on them if ive spent the time stripping its leaves. Do you prefer them pre-stripped or do you buy as is and remove them yourself?
@ellenfrostflowers
@ellenfrostflowers 22 күн бұрын
YES! Go bigger with Solomon's Seal! but only the varigated! The plain green is boring and not a big seller. I saw Delaware Valley was selling the varigated this week from a local grower in PA so i know there is interest from the florist community if a big wholesaler is buying/selling. For Bells of Ireland, I don't mind stripping the leaves as long as the grower lets me know that's what's happening before I buy it. If you are sending out an availability list, make a note that it comes with the leaves on. You could also do a tiered offering- one price for leaves on and one price for leaves off. That way the florist can figure out if they have time to clean or they would rather pay a higher price to get them cleaned.
