1. Choice of Sounds: Opt for instruments that define the 70s sound like electric pianos (e.g., Rhodes), analog synths, clavinet, and orchestral strings. Use vintage drum machine samples or live drum sounds that can be processed for a more authentic feel. 2. Tape Saturation: Use tape saturation plugins to give your track the warm, slightly distorted quality characteristic of 70’s recording equipment. This can help in thickening up your sounds and adding a subtle analog touch. 3. Vinyl Emulation: Implement vinyl emulation software to add crackles, pops, and ambient noise that evoke the era’s vinyl recordings. This can bring an additional layer of authenticity to your sample. 4. Groove and Swing: The 70’s music often had a distinctive swing or groove, especially in its drum patterns. Adjust the swing parameter in FL Studio’s step sequencer to shuffle your beats, giving them a laid-back feel. 5. Chord Progressions and Melody: Embrace typical 70s progressions and melodic structures. Experiment with 7th, 9th, and suspended chords to create a smooth, soulful vibe. 6. Processing and Mixing: Use subtle phaser or flanger effects to add movement to your tracks, reminiscent of the psychedelic influences of the 70s. Employ a conservative use of reverb to emulate the acoustic spaces of the time without making your mix too muddy. By integrating these elements thoughtfully, you can craft a sample in FL Studio that pays homage to the vintage 70s sound while incorporating your unique touch.

Bro your so close to sounding like real vinyl and outboard gear it’s crazy, I think the final steps could be an actual tape (cassette or larger doesn’t matter) and using your mixer as summing to capture the analog outputs.

I make all of my samples because if I take a sample from another person, it wouldn't feel like all of my character is in the song. Like some people are part of my song and I am the majority of the song. I am 100% of the song which is why I create my own samples. You know that feeling you chase when creating music? It's like you're able to chase that feeling at 100% value when you create the full song using yourself.

Its a cool sample and the process is great but I think the entire thing is pretty seriously out of tune. Or maybe i'm trippin. I think you may need to tune/intonate your guitar.
@macshooter49Күн бұрын
Alright
@simonkairouz14 сағат бұрын
thats just adds to the vintage feel imo. not everything gotta be perfectly in tune with
@iswearnotme13 сағат бұрын
@@simonkairouz yeah I agree to some extent but I found it pretty grating in this instance. The sample is still really nice but it would be better if the guitar was in tune. He’s using a tape effect to cause the pitch to wobble anyway.
@simonkairouz13 сағат бұрын
@ yea i can see what u mean. its all personal preference tho i liked the out of tune personally but maybe it would sound a bit better in tune.
