Hey Joe! Thanks for the DIY vid, just wondering whether you would recommend any drainage holes at the bottom to prevent the wood from rotting or plants from being flooded?
@joelydic6 жыл бұрын
Glad that you liked the video. I guess it really depends on what you're planting and how much you're going to be watering. The drainage holes wouldn't hurt though and they would allow the excess water to drain out in order to help prevent rotting. Hope this helps out and good luck with the build!

Hi. This looks great and a perfect first project. I didn't catch the type of paint you used, did you say "bear" paint? And do you know what I could use instead, because I don't think we have that in Australia? Thanks again.

This is an easy project and it turns out really nice. I'm sure you'll love it. Behr is a brand that Home Depot sells here in the states. I would just use any type of outdoor paint in order to be sure that it holds up to the heat and the rain. Hope this helps out. Thanks for watching and good luck!

Just out of curiosity does watering the herbs and the soil start to ruin the wood or do you use something to treat it first to make sure it stays looking nice and isn't damaged?

Good question. The paint has held up well thus far, but if you're looking for some additional protection you could put a layer of poly on it and then you'd be good to go. Thanks for checking out the video and good luck with the build!

Do you know or can you make a video of basically the same thing but it's for flower right under you window?
@joelydic8 жыл бұрын
I haven't made one, but I'm sure you could make something similar that would go right under the window like a flower box. Maybe that can be my next video. Thanks for watching and good luck!

for the main square back, i have a hard time reading the measurement. Is it 30 3/4" by 22 7/8" ? Is that correct? What are the measurements of the long rectangular pieces that create the front face of each planting box section?
@joelydic6 жыл бұрын
Sorry about that. You're correct, 30 3/4" by 22 7/8". The measurement of the rectangular piece is 22 7/8" by 7 1/4". Hope this helps out. Thanks for checking out the video and good luck with the build!

what if I want to water the plants , the wood would be wet and then dry and at the end it would get rotten . What would you suggest for this?
@joelydic4 жыл бұрын
I would recommend putting multiple layers of paint on, but you could also line the boxes with plastic if moisture is a concern. Hope this helps and thanks for checking out the video.

Could I use this indoor ?
@joelydic6 жыл бұрын
You probably could, but you just need to make sure that you don't over water them because the additional water might run out of the bottom. If you use it inside you might want to caulk all of the cracks and edges in order to avoid this problem. Hope this helps out and thanks for watching.
