Wow end effect is amazing, how long did it take you to make it? I don't think I would have the patience for it
@danthemakerman6 жыл бұрын
Thanks, they didn't take too long the sander eats through the wood pretty quickly especially 120 grit. The one that is just looks like a spiral twig took about 15 minutes to shape and then another few minutes of hand sanding. And the all walnut one with the detailed handle took about 20 minutes for shaping and then a few more minutes of hand sanding.

Or if you mean with an orbital sander, I would think you could but you might have to get creative with holding the sander in place somehow.

If you make the handle larger than the Wand shaft, you can hallow it out and fill the space with a 'core' I made mine using my cat's shed whiskers, brushed fur and nail trimmings. You can also use dried herbs and stones, pretty much whatever you connect with.

how to make a wand with a really expensive and big tool that no one has? just use a less expensive, less big tool that still no one has xD I'm joking, but still, if I can get access to a belt sander without buying one I can get access to a lathe too xD
@danthemakerman3 жыл бұрын
A 1x30 belt sander is about $50 add another $10 for belts versus a small wood lathe is about $230 plus you have to buy all the lathe tool$$$ that gets way more expensive a lot faster. So, yeah a belt sander is way more accessible to more people than a lathe.
@L0op3 жыл бұрын
@@danthemakerman as I said, I was just joking, but buying a belt sander is still not an option for lots of people, including me, and the title kinda feels like "how to make a wand at home, no matter what tools you have access to". I guess "with a belt sander" would be a bit more clear? but again, I'm not saying you did anything wrong, just found it funny :D
