I made this quilt and it is very very warm. It’s ideal in these winter months of UKs cost of living crisis.
@redcordelia6 жыл бұрын
The thing I love about this tutorial is that you're demonstrating it without fancy equipment like a giant cutting table, or even a rotary cutter. When I see a tutorial where the person is using the fancy rotary cutter with the huge clear ruler and a bed-sized cutting mat, I feel like I can't make that item because I don't have those tools. Using the template and the scissors makes me feel like I could actually do that at my dining table, which is where I sew.

My mom and I made this quilt for my aunt while she was going through treatment’s for cancer. We made it in old rose solid on one side and a lovely old rose with white roses on the other. She absolutely loved it and cherished it until she passed. Thank you for the refresher and I’m definitely going to make one for myself and each family member for winter. It’s such a warm snuggly quilt you can almost use for a mattress. I’m delighted to see your wonderful instruction’s and your video was appreciated. Thank you for refreshing my lovely memories. Dee💖

to the ladies who want to know what type of material to use, I used basic sheeting cotton for the top, and old duvet cut up for the underneath of the puffs and backed the whole thing onto an oversized fleece. I also attached each of the squares to the backing by sewing on small covered buttons where four squares joined. It looks amazing and is warm and snug. Brilliant Tutorial, thankyou.

Sorry I forgot to say it reminds me of my bedcover as a child. Treasured and loved, then passed down through the family it was already about 50years old when I had it. I'm nearly 60 and it's still going strong a testament to the hours of minute hand sewing. It was an eiderdown I think that is because it was filled with feathers lol your favourite.

Hi Guadalupe, thank you for your kind comments. The first one I ever made was small hexagonals and my mum made me hand stitch each and every one. Honestly, I thought the project would never end. As an aside, they are so warm. Best regards Astar

You are a fabulous presenter! I can't believe I watched this whole video even knowing I didn't have the materials haha. Anyway, Costco sells two packs of these cool super dense foam pillows for $20. I cut those pillows open and take out the crumbled memory foam to stuff orthopedic bedding for my dogs. It's much much better quality than what's at the craft store and cheaper somehow. I'm thinking of using your baffle box pattern here to make a dog bed topper with that foam. It would keep it from becoming lumpy and uneven. Thank you for the video!
