Cool. I can think of a couple dofferent methods to make that too. Do a wave cut through each segment then glue the flat sides together, as an example.

I was thinking about your brad nailer and it occurred to me that you couldn't laminate like a normal glue up because you can't fix any squeeze out on the top if it's already stained. Don't know if that was intentional or not but great solution. One small tip from experience is to make sure you stain the whole board. Because you're adding moisture to only one side it'll escape unevenly over time and could really affect the glue joints. Even if you poly the bottom, the moisture will just distribute within the strip or across to the unstained board; especially because it's such a soft wood.

I’ve made a lot of wooden flags and each one I’ve always craved my stars out which as you said takes up so much time, after seeing the stickers stars i think I will be purchasing that cricket. Looks pretty darn good.

You should get a thin rip jig for your tablesaw. They're fairly inexpensive and greatly improves the safety of cutting piece that are under 2 inches. Preciva makes an excellent one for around $50.00 Canadian.

Quick tip: vinyl sticks to wood instantly if you have a smooth coat of poly on the wood FIRST!! No need to fiddle with trying to get them stuck down. Then just add 2 or 3 coats on top and youre good to go!!

Quick, simple and wonderful patriotic project. Very little tools that most everyone has. Questions: 1. Why the masking tape when staining? 2. Whay size brad nails? 3. Can you paint red/white vs touching? Hate to buy a touch just this project.

Thanks for watching!! The masking tape was so the stain didn’t bleed into the other pieces. The Brad nails were 2”. Yes you definitely don’t need to torch it if you don’t want to! We just like the look of it.

You could of used the part that you got rid of as your stencil and it would of stuck in the lower spots then sprayed grate project and nicely filmed and all or your insulations are well executed
