How To Make A Wood Stop Motion Puppet From Dollar Store Materials

This video goes over how I made this wooden stop motion puppet using materials that you can usually find at the Dollar Tree, Walmart, or Hobby Lobby and all of these materials are pretty cheap.
Material list
3/16 inch wooden dowel
1/2 inch in diameter wood beads
popsicle sticks
toothpicks
Rubber bands
Hot glue
Wood glue
Tools
ruler
mechanical pencil
sketchbook
X-acto knife
bolt cutters (or hand saw or band saw for cutting popsicle sticks)
Electric drill and 1/4 inch drill bit and 1/16 drill bit

My wood sticks split apart where they are weakened by the indentation by drilling. I just decided to drill a hole through that is slightly smaller and the wood is not splitting so far. I reinforced each one with a coat of super glue. I love your video!

@@sufferedenuf nice! Yeah some popsicle sticks seem to be better quality wood than others so it’s tricky. Glad you found something that worked.

This is pretty good.I think rubber bands would dry out and break after time. Maybe twisted wire or something would work better? I'll have to try this.

They do but rubber bands are easy to replace.

Hey hey! How long would this armature last? Or how could we make the armature last longer? I’m weary about the rubber bands breakin, the beads poppin out of place, and wood not holdin up well with the material I want to add on top (wool). Thank you so much for this video btw

Well it probably won’t last as long as higher quality armatures but it is easy to replace parts or rubber bands.
