I needed some small bowls or trays to hold parts so of course, I decided to make some. I used some scraps of wood and a bowl and tray bit in my router to make these wooden bowls. In order to make this repeatable in the future, I also made a complete set of wooden templates for them. They came out great. These would make great gifts, and could also be used in the kitchen once your finish is completely cured.
Here's the link where you can get the printable template. www.homebuiltworkshop.com/dow...

I am new to woodworking but I have played guitar for 45 years. I was scratching my head a few days ago about how to make a pick shaped template to make some boxes with tops because l have begun my woodworking career making bandsaw boxes, this helps me allot and I appreciate it.

Those are EPIC!!! The way you snuck those magnets in there was impressive. If I free handed those cut outs, it would have gone very, very differently.

Finally something to do with those guitar body off cuts. You can store only so many of those until they become firewood for the neighbor. Good idea Jeff. The multi piece one is the best looking IMHO. Course I laminate all my necks.

Even though they are cut offs, I hate to throw them out. I had to figure out something to do with them.

Hey! Just found your video. I’m looking at making a serving tray, I had purchased a template. Need to get the bit you used, but I don’t have a plunge router. (Just a normal one) will that still work? I thot I would just lower the bit little by little. Thank you!

I thought applying the finish with a paper towel would leave paper "nibs" on the surface but obviously it works for you. What keeps the paper towel from disintegrating? I have heard of others using blue shop grade paper wipes and I suspect they are stronger.
@homebuiltshop
@homebuiltshop 4 жыл бұрын
The paper towels seem ok for quick work. I doubt it would last a super long time. The blue shop towels are stronger. I have used them as well.
