It still opens in a windows tab instead of adobe. I don't want it to open in a windows tab.

My icon of Adobe reader has changed to paint on task bar how to fix this on windows 11

Just the icon or also when you are trying to open pdf files they are "open" by using paint app?

@@LearnTECH1thanks for responding , in the taskbar the adobe logo doesn't appear its some sort of paint icon that shows instead , in files normally the adobe logo shows but not in taskbar
