Yeah, it really feels like such wasted potential to put all of these complex recipes in the game and just not utilize them in any useful way. I wish things like paella would multiply the buffs exponentially and just be an automatic tier 3 10 minute or greater buff. A nice alternative to just throwing a bunch of bananas in a pot. And there's only maybe a handful of minor quests in the game that actually require specific recipes. It really makes most food in the game feel pointless.

It’s hilarious the fried banana recipe only gives attack 2 because it’s a complicated recipe that only allows for 2 bananas. It’s so much simpler to just get 5 bananas for attack 3

I've just now learned the secret of the Golden apples 🍎 ✨️, and I am sure most Zelda enthusiasts already know of this but this might help 1 or 2 so.. The Golden apples increase the effects when you cook foods. The Golden apples might not always increase the precise affect you are after, but it still increases the effect of one of the ingredients.

Fixes to a few mistakes: Sauteed Nuts only requires one nut minimum Melty Cheesy Bread doesn't require oil Cheesy Baked Fish doesn't require oil Tip #1: You can always add more ingredients than the recipe calls for (in case you want to add effects or more hearts) and if it satisfies multiple recipes, there is a hidden priority order where certain recipes will take precedence over another. Tip #2: While cooking, there is a chance to create an enhanced version of your dish to add +3 hearts, stamina, +5 min, or +1 effect tier. You can add a Golden Apple or dragon part to guarantee an enhanced dish. Cooking after 11:30pm during a Blood Moon guarantees this as well

A good place to get recipes is Lurelin village as the chef tends to make the more difficult recipes like seafood Paella. Also brightbloom seeds count as fruit. They only heal 1/4 heart when cooked but are easy to gather in large amounts.

I was today years-old when I found out that the fried chicken recipes needed just the oil, and also not wheat and egg as well. I initially did this because I tried making fried chicken in BotW, which did not have oil so instead I used butter. My thought process was poultry, wheat (as in flour), egg (like an egg coating; like flour-egg-flour), and oil (or in BotW case, butter, because frying in a fat or oil). I'm surprised there aren't more fried recipes such as doughnuts, fried fish, croquettes (the fact that there's 3 different meuniere dishes; the French be damned but cooking in butter, maybe they have a point), fried steak (like chicken-fried or country-fried steak), fried dumplings (I'm also surprised dumplings or noodles aren't in the game, for the amount of recipes that are more biased for Japanese audience, you could argue that meat-pies are dumplings which isn't wrong, but that's like saying chicken tenders are fried chicken, you aren't wrong but I don't trust you to bring food to the cookout), fried cheese (like fried mozzarella), etc. You could argue that a lot of these recipes are fried because of the nature of how they're cooked in this game, which in a wok would imply there's some kind of oil, but the distinction to add oil to make something different, I'm probably nit-picking or being pedantic, but when there's a distinction between "cream of vegetable soup" and "creamy vegetable soup", it can't be just me.

FYI for the "Icy" meats, you can make those by simply going to a very cold location and dropping them on the ground or into damagingly cold water, similar to how you can make "Roasted" or "Seared" items by dropping them in an area that requires the Flamebreaker Armor or next to a campfire. If it's nighttime or during a blizzard, they'll freeze faster-fairly quickly, in fact-as anyone who's done a lot of hunting on the Tabantha Plain or Mt Hebra can probably tell you.

Thanks for posting this. Was baffled by some of the ingredient requirements for some of the dishes since said dishes were needed to upgrade one of my horses. Said horse carried over from my "Breath of the Wild" playthrough. It's the same breed as what Link is shown riding in one of the memory scenes connected to Sanidin Park Ruins in said game. Highest rating for a horse's "Strength", "Speed", "Stamina", and "Pull" in this game is 5-Stars. Only stats immediately noticeable off the bat are "Stamina" and "Speed". "Pull" requires the towing harness. Also, some horses can't be enhanced. Said horses are the two giant ones and Epona. I tried, believe me.

For the icy foods, you can also go to a very cold place like the highest peaks of the Hebra region and drop it on the ground. And the Hebra secret hotsprings work for the Hard Boiled Egg too!

For the frozen dishes you can also drop the food on the ground in a cold environment, such as around the hebra mountain. Grilled food is usually better but the frozen food gives brief heat resistance. I actually kind of liked the grilled section where you list the obvious ingredients. Not a lot of people would commit to the bit for that long.

Hey wanted to report a potential glitch preventing me from getting the monster medal, I’ve killed 3 moldugas and there’s another that’s supposed to spawn near this NPC that does this sand race but because they’re there now (they weren’t there earlier before I did the Gerudo town main quests) the molduga doesnt spawn because there’s a nearby NPC on the ground, I’ve killed the other Moldugas that respawn elsewhere but I can’t finish this medal no matter what.

you might want to go slightly south of the sand race. there's a couple of ruins there and you can see the mulduga swimming from there. throw something on the ground when it's near and go from there. hope this helps
