Ellen, these are beautiful!! The colors and swirls are super nice and made an awesome bar. I am glad you recommended researching. Knowledge is a good thing. In late 2014, my husband found out he had Eczema. So starting in 2015 after months of research, I tried my hand at oil mixtures salves and soaps, he could use. During those long months of research, I not only found out a ll about the properties of each one, but how saponification affects or doesn't affect those beneficial properties. I have about 4 large folders full of notes, etc. I had to laugh be ause I get asked the same thing about CBD oil 😆😆. Anyway, I soap special soaps for my husband and a couple of family members with sensitive skin issues, as well as my regular soaps. You are very right it is very important to learn thru research. After all soaping is a science. Cheers and Blessings 💕💕

Hi, Ellen. You know, I love every soap you make so here are a few notes from my experiences. I never did use actual CBD oil, but I used to use hemp oil in small amounts or as superfat in hot process. I one tried 100% hemp oil and 6 months later, it was still a soft paste. Pre-COVID, I would sit in the steam room at the YMCA and put a thin layer on afterward, which gave me the best benefit. My skin LOVED it, but my clothes didn't. I was slightly dark and my clothes absorbed it and had to be thrown away. Perhaps your recipe best distributes its benefits without its downsides. By the way, I didn't get high or buzzed, even putting it directly onto my skin. Stay safe and stay well, my friend!

Hi Ellen They came out so pretty. I love soaping with Avo. Does the Spirulina last in your bars? Mine turns a yukky beige after a while. What I found holds up and stays a lovely shade of green is chlorella powder. Have you ever tried it?

I haven't tried chlorella yet, but I'd like to. The spirulina does fade a bit, but it's still in the green range.

My adult daughter (had) problems with adult acne. She's tried all kinds of products. I guess thats how she knew about this acid but she calls my wife one day to ask me if I could make soap with Salicylic acid. This is her exact text to me... "So I really love my face soap so far. I haven't gotten any big pimples in like a week now any redness isn't as red at all and my face feels smoother. I really love it so far and it doesn't make my face feel tight after I use it either". She meant it. 4 days later she said "I wish I had a before pic of my face but that soap is working so good for me I hardly have any redness on my face like I did and my face is pretty clear I love it". That convinced me that it must be doing its job. It was her idea not mine. I just did what she asked. You should try some. I didn't exactly follow other peoples advice about it not surviving. How would they know. I would think if things can live in lava then acid can certainly survive in lye.

Love your vids and your energy. HOWEVER ... unless you are adding the CBD oil AFTER your soap recipe has reached trace (in essence using it to superfat), the benefits of the CBD oil will not remain after saponification. They simply won’t survive through the chemical process of saponification. Just thought you should know. Happy holidays!

Thanks. And thank you for the info 👍

When I make soap after 24 hours I still can't unmold its too soft to unmold and I use sodium lactate... What am I doing wrong?
@EllenRuthSoap4 жыл бұрын
Nothing, you're fine.. Every recipe is different, and Bramble Berry recipes take several days to unmold. It's ususally a "hard oil to soft oil" ratio thing, but as long as your lye and pH are good, it's okay.

Oh gosh. I have tried so hard to like your channel, you make nice soap, but you repeatedly make claims about your soap, which is illegal. You had been much better over the past few months, so I had enjoyed watching your videos but lately, the claims have started pouring in again, even though you try and put a little caveat in after making claims for several minutes (so this shows you know you shouldn't be making the claims). Or saying 'here are the benefits of this ingredient' it's still leading people into claims. I wish you wouldn't do it as it ruins an otherwise enjoyable channel

Everything from the government to companies like proactive make claims. In my opinion it is up to me the customer to decide and to be honest, if she doesn't believe in her product neither will I. I believe in my soap. If I didn't my customers wouldn't. I've even sold soap, minding my own business, just because of what my skin looks like. I'm a straight guy so that selling point is not exactly on my to do list but yes that actually happened. Sitting in my truck listening to my radio a construction worker walks up to the truck and says "You know, you've got really clear skin I notice". Of course I'm a natural when it comes to soap sales and my first response immediately and without hesitation was that I make soap. He and his wife have been my customer ever since. Everyone makes some sort of claim. It's up to the customer to make a smart decision and shy away from false claims. Knowingly making false claims by the soap maker is misleading though but still, this lady is just trying to make a video without somebody holding the soap bible above her head.
