hello. can this mosfet handle 170 to 210 hard spring? hope you will reply sir. 🙂
@southwests55089 жыл бұрын
Great video! But the diode just allows current to travel only one direction to avoid feed back. So I don't think its necessary. One other thinh is you should crush the wire before u solder it then screw it to allow for more coper to attach to the surface, or just solder the wire directly. I'm assuming ur using 60/40 and coper is much more conductive that solder is. Great design. I think I'm just gonna drop the diode and maybe do silver plated. Thanks!!!

How did it work so far? with out diode
@alexcurmi74123 жыл бұрын
Always use a diode when inductors and mosfets are linked. The inductance from the motor will kill the mosfet, I speak from experience

Where did I go wrong? I have expirience with soldering and electronics, I'm working at cellphone service, bought supplies and made few of these...some of them were faulty at the beginging, and some of them just didn't work well, as soon as I connect battery rifle start to shoot in full auto with selector in safe position. Yes, I checked diode polarity, and after this happening I used a multimeter to check it and it seems mosfets itself died...diode was ok, so as resistors. 2-3 of them worked for maybe 200 shots and then suddenly became melting hot and died... I'm out of supplies...any thoughts?

can you elaborate as to why your using such a large ziner diode and not just a regular diode?

It's TVS, not Zener. And he doesn't know: the diode should be across the motor terminals, not the mosfet itself.

man, I tried to make this with a mosfet and diode that I got from radio shack's parts drawers and it didn't work. I think the diode was way off it was a 6A 05 1411 and the mosfet was a IRF510. no dice. didn't work. I ordered the right parts online so I should be able to reproduce the results from the first one of these I made
@dizzytricksta84519 жыл бұрын
+Recovery12Life While technically feasable, the amount of capacitance you would have to add to the circuit would be huge, and the space it would take up would be totally impractical. If you want better response get a higher C Lipo as they have the ability to dump current more quickly.

Hello, I made this mosfet and it works very well. I did however have several issues when I installed it. the 16ga wire was to thick and I had to seriously modify my grip to get the motor to slide in and actually had to do several modifications to the rest of the gun to get the mosfet and wires to fit. I did exactly what you sad and it looked the same shape as yours but I had to grind the hole in the reciever as well as the buffer tube and the plate between. it was a but more than I had hoped for but it did work. how bad would it be to use 18ga in the future. I mean is it really going to have that much difference with motor performance?
@ExplosiveReview9 жыл бұрын
18 is fine if you can't fit 16. It can be a bit tricky to get in there. If you are using 18 try and use high conductance wire to minimize heating and performance loss.
@dannyboy82319958 жыл бұрын
+Recovery12Life actually, 18 awg is no better than stock wire (18awg is stock wire, juts not chines stock wire) so your better bet it to use ecowire 16 awg

What is the difference between using the internal diode of the transistor to the new one as used here? Moreover, I am making a simple assembly with two transistors IRF1404 to divide the intensity and remove some heating. Am I doing it right? What mounting advise me for marui EG700 engine? Thank you very much and kind regards from Spain
@hawkeye31578 жыл бұрын
The internal diode of the transistor is a piece of shit. The diode used in this tutorial can actually take the voltage spikes from normal battery use. If you use two transistors, just be sure you get them in parallel with the same gate control and polarity. Sorry, I have never used that engine. Hope it helps!

@ExplosiveReview10 жыл бұрын
Opinions differ greatly on this matter but I personally like 16 AWG stranded (not solid core) copper wire you can get at home depot or the like. Silicone wire has superior conductance but it is fragile and prone to damage. You don't need the heat sink but I like to add it as an extra layer of protection. LMK if you have any more questions.

😒😔I'm so pissed right now because I did EVERYTHING and got every part needed. I REWIRED THE MOSFET 4 TIMES. Still no dice. Maybe the terminal connector I'm using to screw onto the top is faulty? Maybe the resisters because I went through five of each are faulty? I mean it worked one time and I honestly don't know how it did. I pressed on the 100ohm resistor and it worked?? I have no idea. I'm just so pissed because I was so excited to built a MOSFET so I could finally use my custom built gearbox.

Can you explain why you use a diode in your design?
