Can't believe you didn't call me and asked for an interview of how i did my indie/softrock/synthpop/yacht rock ballad with the most epic solo you've heard in ages! Just the intro alone is $$$$$$$$$ And i'm not kidding. Gonna watch the video now, and after that cry about all the vocals i have to record for an upcoming song. Edit: Aha, it was one of 'those ballads'. For some reason i was thinking Toto Africa or something

As a fellow lover of The Band CAMINO and alt. pop/indie rock, I LOVE this track. Truly excellent work. All your content is amazing, man. Really appreciate the stuff you do. Also, as a music director of a church, I’ve been curious for a long time to get a non-religious person’s take on today’s CCM/Worship music like Elevation, Hillsong (Young & Free has some poppier tracks), Bethel, Red Rocks, etc., and get an honest take what they like or don’t like or what they would change to make it more interesting. I’d love to send you some specific tracks of what’s popular right now and get your thoughts. For the record, I’ve been bored with church music for a little while now, and have been dying for some inspiration to make it more interesting to listen to and play haha. Thanks again!

Great tutorial as usual. Some real nuggets in here. Question, are you recording your guitar plugged in or are you mic'ing it?

No. Micing it, single mic, double tracked. Taylor 214CE recorded with the Lauten LS208 into a Rupert Neve Newton into an AudioScape 76D into an AudioScape Opto comp into my RME interface

Did you mean to leave the MBSI on the “Line” setting for the guitar vs. Mic? Have you found that matters at all?
@MakePopMusic4 ай бұрын
Definitely matters! Line has a nice little top end roll off that emulates the old unit. Mic has a high shelf to compensate for that roll off. So it was definitely meant to be on line to help cut some of that sizzle on the acoustic
