I need to make a different sword, but this should be very helpful. Thank you. Although I think I might use rub n' buff instead of the silver vinyl because I think that shows too many flaws. You did such a great job with the underlying sword that I think the vinyl kind of cheapens at a little bit. I'm OK with giving up a little bit of shiny, though.

@blademastercrafts41872 жыл бұрын
This is great! I've made 4 katanas, and a wall mounted stand for them, all out of cardboard! And Raphael, the placement of a katana on a stand is important. It should be placed on the stand with the handle to the left, and the blade facing up. I've forgotten the reason for these though, but katanas are sacred weapons, not just to samurai, but to crafters making their own too!
@EpicCardboardProps2 жыл бұрын
Oh I didn't know that! Thanks for the information
@the18312 жыл бұрын
The reason is because after wrong placement catana's blade scratches the cap of it and it becomes dull, so u have to shapener it again, again again again, and it will get broken much faster.
@the18312 жыл бұрын
And the meaning of putting handle on different sides i think its because of the owner who usually uses right or left hand to hold handle while unleashing the sword

Yes yes, I've been watching your work for a while and I am on board. In fact I was just thinking about your videos the other day and the fact that I haven't seen any in the while. Nothing on you I mean it could just be KZbin's algorithm and we all have lives as well I can't watch everything all the time . And most especially I'm aware it takes a good month to create such props for our entertainment. But for sure you don't have to limit yourself if you want to make a cardboard inner structure and coat everything with Bondo or Fiber Glass or Resin you can. And certainly use whatever material works best to create the end result. It's called Secret wizard sorcery. Conjuring life into something out of basically nothing. And if you have to actually buy some supplies to make something shiny you can do that too...

@EpicCardboardProps2 жыл бұрын
well if you put the wood stick into it as I show in the video, it is surprisingly very sturdy. I can easily do fighting moves and such very fast and it won't break or bend. For a very good sturdiness though try to put that wood stick into the blade and push its extremity into the handle as well, that's gonna reinforce the connection between the 2 parts a lot ;)
