Welcome back to my ... shed build 😁
In todays video i show you how i made the apex roof for my shed build.
As usual there is a lot of "make it up as you go" in this video, but it has worked out rather well.
Hopefully you have seen the previous videos where i make the base and the walls. if not please check them out, Thanks 😁
Thanks for watching, i hope you enjoy and even learned some new skills along the way 😁👍
Please like and subscribe, its free and much appreciated.

Great shed, great video! Using the framing square with the adjustable square is inspired; I must remember that one. Cheers.

😁 Thanks Ben. I sometimes just try things to see if they work. Then double check to make sure its correct. I try to avoid numbers where possible (I always get them wrong 😒). For me, if its simple I have more chance of success 😁. Thanks for watching Ben 😁👍

Excellent, thank you so much. You have given me confidence to put a pitched roof on my upcoming project as opposed to a flat roof. Very informative and enjoyable.

Got shed/s to make (primarily to get non-workshop stuff out of the one shed we have already built). Materials cost is now a scary factor. Am learning from pretty much all that you are doing. Your clever use of combined rafter square and adjustable square is totally new to me; not something I would have ever figured out by myself.

😁 This build is purely just so I can have a small part of the new shed for project wood storage... I'm desperate for workshop space. I'm glad your learning something 😁. I'm learning as I go and taking the time to try things before commiting to a final cut. The price of timber now means if I mess up a cut it will cost too much to try again. Thanks very much for watching Colin 😁👍

Lovely job Frank I bet you didn't need to go to the gym after all that ladder work. I used to do light fitting repairs and replacement 8 hours up and down a ladder I felt it the next day. Looking forward to the next part. Steve Australia.

😁 Thanks Steve. Yep, the ladder is a killer (especially on the uneven grass). I know its not hot by your standards, but the weather has been so hot it makes it even harder (but it gives us Brits something to moan about i guess 🤣🤣). Stay safe Steve and thanks for watching 😁👍🇬🇧

🤣 I've had so many out-takes on this build. It seem working outside always creates the perfect conditions.... to mess up 🤣. I've had to take a couple of days away from the build as the heat was knocking me sideways. I'm just going to squeeze in a workshop project (inside) and then back on with felting the roof before the weekend. Thanks for watching Steve 😁👍

Good job, but why cut the overhang off for a gutter, if you leave a big overhang the rain wont hit the building !
@frankslittleworkshop
@frankslittleworkshop Жыл бұрын
🤔 Hi Antony. The guttering server a couple of purposes. We use the rain water around the garden later in the year so its the best way to reclaim it. Also, without the guttering the roof concentrates the water to one area on the ground in front of the shed. This area of ground is quite low so immediately floods and turns in to a soggy mess. So the gutter is essential 😁. Thanks for watching Antony 😁👍

How did you clad the two wall up against the fence
@frankslittleworkshop
@frankslittleworkshop 5 ай бұрын
😁 Hi Laura, with a lot of struggling 😆. In the cladding video I show how I did most of it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJDSoHecbs90jsUsi=aog849e6HI9jvKBQ But I used the cladding from the old shed for the fence sides. I briefly show it at the end of the cladding video. And yes.... I did get wedged a few times 😆. Thanks for watching 😁 👍

I still think it's better to put in a ridge beam especially if you are in snow.
@frankslittleworkshop
@frankslittleworkshop 7 ай бұрын
😃 Your probably right, but that probably would have caused me some head clearance issues and would have stretched the budget a bit too much. I don't think we will have much snow weight issues here, the last time we had more than about 3 inches of snow I was only 16 years old 😆😆. Thanks for watching Gary 😁👍🏻

You do a good job but the frames are too small, you need to have all 2x4.
@frankslittleworkshop
@frankslittleworkshop Жыл бұрын
😁 I agree Yooj. But my budget was very limited so I had to go with what I could afford. I have now partitioned of the inside in to two areas so have created an internal box section which adds additional strength and some additional corner bracing. So now it is sufficiently rigid. Thanks for watching Yooj 😁👍
