Really enjoyed watching your video. I liked several of your techniques and plan to copy them when I get around to making mine.

Great work! For me, I think I'll buy a kiln. I have the time, and the tools, but I think it'll be cheaper to pimp a high school/ college reject off a surplus website.

Great build! Very clean and professional result. (and cudos for your video producing skills) Could I ask what material the wire you coiled and used as heating elements is made of?

How long did your heating coil last 'cause it looks like a lot of work to replace it?

What's the difference in this specific Kanthol? Is that just a brand name? What do you think of Monel or Inconel element which should be able to melt copper all while staying in the same phase?

Hello interesting to use a voltage regulator what is the total resistance of your element and the maximum temperatures you can achieve ?

Hello! What is the diameter of the tube you use to coil the wire?
@vincenzocaccia9777 Жыл бұрын
Salutations. I noticed that every time I mount the new resistance the fuse in the circuit blows then when I turn it on for about 20 minutes (direct connection to the mains without the fuse) I can reassemble the fuse and everything works fine. Why blows the fuse when the resistance is new ??

That's a great design am curious about that PID how well it works for that cheap of a price? I have one from Amazon and it fluctuates in the ~ 30 degree range is that one more accurate? Has autotune? Thanks for the video you earned a subscriber!
@nrml7611 ай бұрын
Did you auto-tune with the device loaded with the the quantity of material you would normally be heating? I use one of the cheap ones for a brewing kettle and I get a 3 to 5 degree fluctuation. I think it can be improved a bit further with manual adjustments but I cant really be bothered.
@RJ9972911 ай бұрын
I ended up playing around with it more and just had to increase all the PID settings by a lot more than I thought, into the hundreds and it actually works great now even though it's the cheapest one I could find. But the auto tune setting never did work at high temp 1000+ it might be okay for lower @@nrml76

I would like to have electricity as my furnace fuel but I'm not confident that I could get the element right.. However I will definitely be using many of the other ideas shown in the brilliant build.
