Yeah, I was just thinking a hole where you could poke your finger through from the back side. That thing is cool, Stephen! I saw glimpses of it on Instagram, so I was definitely curious about the build.

Great vid! Loved the choice of wood. Did you just eyeball where the center was on top and bottom? I didn’t see it in the vid.
@TheWoodPastor5 жыл бұрын
Yes. I went center center on the base. The eyeballed where I wanted the top to be later.

Tekton Wood Design thank you! After a few times I’ve gotten a little better but there’s still room to improve. Walnut is the best though.

Well, it's pretty, but how do you plan to access any of the buttons, or ports? Is that going to be for read only? Did you resort to putting a ribbon in to make extracting the tablet easier, or do you just tip the whole stand over? It doesn't look like there's any room for fingers to get in to lift the tablet back out when anyone finishes using the lectern.
@TheWoodPastor6 жыл бұрын
All lessons I learned from making this one. He added a ribbon later.

Great job on the wood build. Question, where did you get the curved metal pipe?
@TheWoodPastor5 жыл бұрын
I had a local metalworker weld and powder coat it for me. A friend of mine. And thank you.

I did. My grandpa actually brought me some from Arkansas. But i can get this local.

I just built some ipads into shelfs for my local art gallery with access panels for removal and charging. Awesome to see a nice furniture style build. I think a leather removal strap would suit the style nicely, that said a hole in the back is clean and uncomplicated. Nice video matey :-)

You ask who makes perfect builds ... I do! Now, come visit and I'll sell you this great bridge at a great deal. LOL Seriously, the master woodsmiths say that the best woodsmiths aren't the ones who don't make mistakes, it's the ones that can fix or hide them the best.

Thanks Devin! Lol, maybe I'll get to all of those. I've actually seen but never made cornhole boards if that's what you're talking about. I have done a blog on end grain boards, ugh. Not sure if I'll ever go back to that way of making boards again until I grab a drum sander.
