Here is my second teaching tip for Violin Tutor Pro! In this tutorial, you'll learn how to bring more of a dotted-note feel to your triplets as well as use gravity to your advantage for emphasis.
Keep in mind, any emphasis tip is just one suggestion of many! For more ideas, watch this video next:
• How to Add Emphasis to...
**Note that "regular" 6/8 jigs are actually in duple meter! So it's felt in 2 groups of triplets "ONE-two, ONE-two." If you were to subdivide that, it would be "ONE-two-three, Two-two-three"

I know there is a difference, but I admit I don’t really notice the difference between tunes played by Irish, Scottish or English folk fiddlers. To me, the real difference is between a classical violin player and a folk player. Folk fiddle styles bring the music to life with the dynamics that all folk fiddlers use.

There aren’t as many videos out there about the comparison between the straight approach and making the playing not Irish sounding . Having played a lot of classical , classical lesson at least , I tend to get the notes . Kevin Burke says, “people cover the notes ok but it doesn’t sound Irish “ [he was speaking about this very subject of how can an American fiddler - as he referred to - can sound more Irish ] do you give lessons in Skype or in another manner

Thank you so much for this simple introduction! I'm an adult violin beginner from Germany and was at the point of frustration that I could never hope to learn Irish Fiddling without the funds and time to travel Ireland. But here you go and with just a tad of a dotted rythm and a bit of an accented beat, my Kesh Jig already begins to sound more like it should! I am now fully motivated and follow your seven factors you mentioned in another video, helping along my way to building a starter's repertoire - and enjoying my music so much more for it. Thank you a thousand times over!

@@HannahHarrisCeol you are so kind! I am overwhelmed with the possibilities this instrument has to offer, and certainly wish to join your vault, but I think that right now this would clash too much with the classical education I started. But I will continue to learn from your lessons, and publish videos of how (well?) I do, to demonstrate: It's never too late to start learning the violin!
