Can't believe she cut that paper with her fabric scissors tut tut!

My Oma would have crucified me! XD I was a crafty kid and when I wanted to cut construction paper she'd always be like, 'NOT THE SEWING SCISSORS!" haha ah...I miss her.

Thank you for your tutorial, It looks like the easiest one for this pattern. But I'm wondering if the 3 separate pieces cause too much bulk along the seam lines when they're all added together. I would be thankful for an answer as I wish to make these but don't want to be disappointed.

Great video! But... how is it “bias tape” when it was clearly not cut on the bias? Looks like folded trim to me.
@screeningmimi3 жыл бұрын
My observation too, although I've never seen the bias tape maker before. Thanks for the clear, concise video!
@user-yc7jr7of9y2 жыл бұрын
It is a folded trim

I hope you use all your scraps. This wouldn’t work for protecting my fingers, it would burn right through. Broadcloth is also part of polyester which is your enemy when heat is involved. It’s best to use cotton batting, Insulbrite, and cotton thread.

Thank you, this video just comes handy, as I was thinking of getting ovengloves. When you pin a fabric and sew do you keep the pins inside or do you take them out before sewing over? Because if I keep them theres a 50/50 chance I sew over the pin or the pin and needle meet eachother and bend/break, or do you use a special trick? A peacefull evening/noon/morning/night to you-
@onlinefabricstore7 жыл бұрын
If the pins are thin, some people sew over them, but it still makes me nervous! Whenever possible, you can pin in from the edge so the foot won't runner over the pins. Then you can just remove all the pins at the end.

It was an interesting & easy method but I didn't like the quilted fabric in the inside. I'd much rather use the insulated wadding and do a quilt pattern on the outside. Just my own preference. Thanks for vid. 😁😁

Love this video. 2 questions...whete can I buy this batting and what size bias tape maker do I want?
@onlinefabricstore3 жыл бұрын
Here is where you can find the bias tape maker - www.onlinefabricstore.com/dritz-bias-tape-maker-1-inch-and-1-2-inch-.htm But, unfortunately, we don't carry this batting anymore.
@TattooedAussieChick5 жыл бұрын
Your bias tape wasn’t cut on the bias?
@onlinefabricstore5 жыл бұрын
For this project it wasn't important for the "bias" tape to be cut on the bias. Cutting on the bias gives the fabric a bit of a stretch which is great for going around curves with the bias tape. Since it wouldn't have made a difference here, cutting on the grain saves fabric.

And to be honest I don't like the insanely fat thumb and overall shape if this glove, I have seen much better looking ones, I would pass.

It’s an oven mitt 🙂 also, gloves have fingers, mittens don’t.
