Love the bookmark! But as someone who used these bookmarks in the 1970s, they stay in place better when you place them around several pages and close the book over both sides of the bookmark. Otherwise, the bookmark is likey to be pulled off if, for instance, you have the book in your purse or bag. Happy crocheting!

I thought of the same thing. I am pre-1970, so I guess I am vintage and not just old. However, I have to admit that my bookmarks were made of felt and not pretty lace like these. I like this design because of the shells around the edge. I look forward to making a few for myself.

Stumbled across your channel the other day while working on a project and I just want to say I'm super glad that I did! I LOVE vintage things, and vintage crochet especially. After years of not working any crochet I've been slowly getting back into it as something I can share with my mom (who has crocheted so many different clothing accessories for me over the years) and I'm super excited to try out this pattern. The way you break things down and explain them as you go along has been one of the best lessons I've come across on YT. It reminds me of how my mom taught me crochet in the beginning. You've made it very easy to follow along. Thank you for taking the time to make this content and share it with us! I hope you continue to do so and I look forward to crocheting along with you on a few projects (the vintage shawl was actually the video that I first saw but I don't have the spare yarn for that right now so cute bookmarks it is!)

I want to thank you for showing me how to do this pattern. I have had this same pattern for 10-15 yrs. with all 5 corner markers in it and did not do them because I did not understand everything in the instructions. I have just started crocheting with in the last yr. or so with thread. I have always worked with yarn until lately and have discovered that I love working with thread. I hope that you will do the other patterns before long. I am starting to work this pattern up for some of the ladies at my church for their Bibles. Thank you again.

Hello, I am new to your channel and first watched your video on the beautiful crochet dress, and then this one popped up. I loved it soo much I immediately sat down and started making one with some slightly thicker yarn that I had (this was at about 8 in the evening). I rushed out the next day and bought some thinner yarn and have just finished making it. I just adore it. but now I need to make another 6 more for my friends and family that love reading - this is the perfect gift. Thank you so much for sharing, your tutorials are awesum and you sound wonderful - some of your comments just crack me up, you are soo funny ❣❣

I have the same book with all these patterns in it and have made multiples of each one. They make great Mother's Day gifts, Christmas gifts, birthday gifts etc. Another idea I had is to make lots of them and donate to my church to give to people when they get saved and are given a Bible, or to parents for baby dedications when the child us presented a Bible.

Me again! I made it!! I started out using #10 thread and I messed up so switched to a light#2 mercerized cotton and a 2mm hook and it turned out beautiful...not oversized but I have very tight tension. Now that I understand the pattern I may go back to the thread. Either way just beautiful. Thanks again. Just wanted to share my experience!

That moment when you get to round 12 and realize you've missed a chain 3 from round 9 🤦🏻‍♀️ I couldn't be bothered to find my hook case, so I used the vintage 8 hook that was with my thread already sitting out. It's a little stiff, and probably smaller than yours, but it still worked up quite nicely. I can't wait to make the other 4! My mom made me some of these when I was little, but your guess is as good as mine as to what ever happened to them.

I found it hard to follow this pattern because whenever we go into a fan from a ch3, tr row, she means to fan in the ch2 area and then go into the area between, not into the next chain area. I had to frog each time because I was listening along the first time and didn't see the note, and there was not a note the second time. I had to stop and watch her project closely the second time to figure out what she did a second time because she didn't show her continuing past the 2nd half.

@deborahstatler7385
@deborahstatler7385 Жыл бұрын
Could you please provide the written instructions? It is hard to follow you as you go so quickly and reword the instructions instead of in order as written so makes it difficult to follow. I even tried to write it down as you went and found that difficult as well. Thank you.
@deborahstatler7385
@deborahstatler7385 Жыл бұрын
It was just hard to follow to write down or to do as you went as was so fast. I do better from written than video as it takes it at my speed, plus I can make my own notes to highlight items to remember, such as your "fake stitch". I liked that you showed that so plainly and I did make a special defining note on my written directions from your video. I also have trouble with thread crochet in my eyes focusing going from screen to item working on so that is where written directions also help.Your video was good other than that fast factor.
