Neem oil is actually really great for skin. It’s antiseptic and antibacterial properties help a ton with collagen production, acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, & it contains vit C!!

Rehabbing plants is something I do in work and the leaf cleaning is the most fun. Hand sanitiser diluted in water is great if you don't have neem at hand

I found a fuzzy feather calathea at home Depot. All the leaves were touching the floor but it wasn't on clearance so I asked for a discount. The first person said no but said to try customer service. the manager happened to be there and he said no. He said the plant is Dead anyway. I said I think it just needs water but I'm not paying $30 cuz I'm not sure. He told me he's just going to throw the plant away that I could have it for free but I couldn't take the woven basket. Fine with me. I got home gave her a shower and a soak and I now own a beautiful fuzzy feather calathea. 🥰

When I worked at a plant nursery, I noticed that when we'd get a delivery & somebody accidently dropped a plant while unloading, the nursery owner would refuse the plant. He said that it would be "shocked" & have less chance of thriving. He was very knowledgeable but I've never heard of this before or since.

I was unable to afford a huge and flourishing zz plant. At the end of the season I found 3 horrible pots at Walmart that were on clearance. I bought a beautiful pot for them and now I have that stunning and full plant that I could only dream about! And another bonus, the cache pots are serving dishes for our kitchen! Voila’

The clearance section has some hidden gems! I got an Alocasia silver dragon in a decent cover pot for 2.99! Super healthy roots, just some cosmetic damage to the leaves

Cleaning your plants is a good thing. I some times take milk and a paper towel and wipe the leaves with that.

Best plant tip I have, and I'm lucky enough to have a mild winter, with a verandah to protect plants on - but house plants need some R 'n R outside the house. I rotate my plants that are looking dull. The verandah protects them from direct sunlight, while increasing their natural light exposure. Just a couple of days outside, makes the world of difference to a sad plant.

PS: if I had a cold climate, I would definitely consider building a lean-to greenhouse, against the house, as part of my houseplant management infrastructure, through the colder months. With supplemental heating.

I thought I'm the only one on this planet who cuts the burned or damaged leave's tips and edges into a leaf's shape 😅 and now I've known that there's an another excellent grower who does the same and it doesn't damage the leaf in any way that's what matters 👍👍 And yes make a series like this video it's awesome to see the (before and after) thingy, And thank you for the tips you gave "mine are the same and sorry i don't have or know an extra to add" and thank you for the whole video HARLI ✌

You can call it, RESCUE 101😁 The Stromanthe Triostar is one of the hardest plants to keep alive, in my opinion. A lot of people struggle with Calathea's. So, good for you! And where did all the baby pounds go?? You look fantastic Mamacita 😉

Harli, next time you're in town get yourself to a dollar store & grab a few of those black boot trays or a small tarp. Use those under plants when must do your gardening indoors. It makes clean up a _breeze!_ 💕💕

I tried cutting a leaf to the shape of my monstera deliciousa this morning as the new leaf that grew this winter grew small and deformed. I would have cut it off completely but I'm not sure where the new leaf would then grow from?

I've always wondered how others deal with dead tips. I hate clipping just the brown part, makes it look bad. With your method, does it continue it's browning where you cut? Or does cutting it like that put it into submission and the plant understands what is expected of it? 🙃

It will brown on the tip again if the environment isn’t improved. If the humidity is upped or light is less harsh, the tips may not brown again. Just kind of depends on why they browned in the first place
