Ive had my above ground for 15 years and always thought they were normally impossible for me to open. I usually find a man who wont admit defeat to plastic stuff lol. I wish i had shut off valves so i could do this without losing 1.000 gallons of water . Sometimes i put a trailer hitch ball in the skimmer to stop that side but then i cant stop the return side because as soon as the water stops, my tennis ball floats away :/ . So hard to do alone. My lid has no lube currently because last time i guess i used to much and it made it worse and the manufacturer didn’t tell me to use lube. Life will be so much easier now that i know what to do. Thank you!!

Yes my PowerFlo Matrix Haywood, pump lid is super stuck this year, please make a video for that. I cleaned out the top last year. I had this pump for 2yrs, but every year this happens, Help😂😂😂

Is it ok if your water squirts out of your pump lid the minute you shut off the pump?

It means that you have a air leak most likely it’s the oring so if this trick doesn’t fix it then there’s probably a crack in your pump lid

I can get the over handle off ( off white in your video) but not the clear plastic lid with the o-ring. Any suggestions.

Yes, you need to remove the O-ring and replace it with fresh lube and clean it very well before so. To get the clear lid off, I would pry it with something plastic if possible last resort flathead screwdriver just be careful it can break the plastic then push the clear lid into, the handle you should hear it click and good to go. It shouldn’t come off every single time, though if it does, the handle piece may be broken inspect it.

Not sure if you made a video about the o ring from the filter tank. But the o rings from the filter tank keeps curling off. It won’t stay in place. I’ve checked the o ring and it looks good. (No cracks or anything like that) so what’s the cause of it?

Probably want to do this and replace the oring and you should be good to go

Tank orings can stretch out when lubing them. Gently massage the lube onto the oring as you slowly go around it. Do not pull your hands apart when doing this. A stretched oring will render the tank impossible to close.

Only problem is as a pool service tech that had like a billion houses to go to there is no time for this. I’m about to quit. Every guy shows me just do this & and pushes it wil there hands… like no shit sometimes I can do that but some lids are so stuck and my srms and hands are weak I can’t get it open for shit and hurt my hands. Hate these damn lids.

I feel your pain! It is a tough job but when you take the time to set yourself up for success it makes it so much easier. I would recommend using this technique on every pump you’re struggling with but trash the oring and put a new one and you’re going to be able to get it 👍🏻

Regarding the business side of this question: if the o ring that’s for the pump lid is cracked, do you put a new one in and then charge the client for it or inform the client first and see if they want a new one? Do you then receive the payment on the next visit?

Anything crucial to the operation on the pool we’re just going to replace and add it to the bill. if it’s a pump or new complete filter I’m going to get approval before ordering it. We also have a automated message on our service app that tells the client that parts were replaced. Hope that helps! Would you like more business directed videos?

How about that other lid that you showed in the early sequence but didn't touch? It doesn't even have protrusions on both sides. Mine is stuck big-time.
