Hi John and greetings from the UK. I'm currently on a juice fast. I was fascinated by this video, especially because you were able to juice the stones. I also have the vsj843. It was recommended by you and you use it at home. You don't operate in the UK so bought mine from UKjuicers. They use the same juicer as their office juicer! Anyway, I thought, how about juicing avocados so I can "eat/drink" one of my favorite foods during my fast. I noticed your reaction when you tasted the end product. So I thought, how about guacamole juice? Well, it does sort of work. I ended up with a thin puree and a slightly thicker one on the top side of my sieve. Not quite liquid, but, oh wow is this delicious!!!! It tastes incredible! I ATE ALL OF IT VERY QUICKLY! My recipe: ( This produces about 600 ml. ) 8 hass avocados, peeled ( about 1 kilo unpeeled ) 15 to 20 grams of cilantro/coriander 1 medium red onion, peeled ( healthier than white ) 2 medium tomatoes ( not too ripe ) 2 limes ( 5 cm diameter ). Use the harder ingredients to push the softer. Only remove the green outer skin from the limes. Use the onion last. It's the hardest ingredient. As you recommended -- slightly unripe avocados. ( Otherwise it turns into a very slippery mess and this is not a good idea especially when using a very sharp knife. And, of course if they were too soft, I suspect the juicer would not juice much.) Thank you for the idea and obviously everyone has a slightly different recipe. I love your passion and, almost, childlike enthusiasm. You have so much knowledge and experience. You are an extremely valuable source of information. Long may you have good health to carry on with this endeavor. With much respect, Frank.

John, How do you clean the screen completely after this juicing? Great video!!!! You can add a portion or a quarter of an avocado plus the seed or part of the seed with other fruits and maybe some spinach, strawberries, etc. Good smoothie
@discountjuicers7 жыл бұрын
I take the screen out and brush it off with a nylon bristle brush with soap under running water spray (one is included when you purchase the juicer) but I got a dish brush that is a bit larger for 49 cents at Ikea. It works great.

Hi John, thank you for the nice video. Would you juice the avocado with the Green Star Elite?
@discountjuicers7 жыл бұрын
I personally would not have an issue juicing an avocado with the green star elite. With its two twin gears, it will grind up the seed without issue. just be sure to juice it with other produce items.

hi John , thanks so much for all your great videos. i have watched many of your videos on this subject , but i just wanted to know definitively the best juicer for hemp seed milk and almond butter and milk. from your videos im thinking kuvings vert 7000 or omega vert . thanks again , jt
@discountjuicers7 жыл бұрын
For nut milks, I recommend blending the water and the nut or seed first with water and then pouring through the vertical slow juicer for best results. Based on my testing the VSJ843 processes nuts/seeds into milk best (with least jamming and higher yield). For nut butters, the Omega VSJ843 will work as I Show in the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ep_apqx5n7l4pMk
@JtJt-bg8rn7 жыл бұрын
DiscountJuicers.com . ok thanks for that. just one last thing would blending it first oxidize the milk and could it still be called cold pressed milk if its blended first?
@vincer99607 жыл бұрын
DiscountJuicers.com Even better than the Green Star?
@discountjuicers7 жыл бұрын
I use a vacuum blender to blend, so it has minimal oxidation. Yes, most "nut milks" are blended in some way and still call "cold pressed". IMO that is not the best term to describe juices or nut milks.
@discountjuicers7 жыл бұрын
Each juicer has their own pros and cons. The green star would probably make nut butter better than the VSJ. It will also make nut milk, but take longer, but have a dryer pulp. Also the green star takes longer to clean.

hey i was wondering should i purchase the kuvings vacuum blender or the ozen vacuum blender, and is a vacuum blender better for weightloss then a juicer please help
@discountjuicers7 жыл бұрын
Each a blender and a juicer have their own pros and cons. A little less cons with a vacuum blender than a regular blender. That being said, juicing allows you to supersize the fresh produce and get in and more effectively digest some of the important nutrients. If it were me, I would purchase a juicer first. Please see kzbin.info/www/bejne/iHmoYaeDaKh6abc for my video on this topic.

WoW! Amazing Stuff, I have a Kuvings Whole Slow Juicer, do you think I can use it for Avocados? Hate to buy another juicer just for avocado!
@discountjuicers7 жыл бұрын
I have only used the Omega VSJ843 to juice avocados on the specific way (cut into 4ths) so that is what I can recommend. I do not recommend juicing avocados in other juicers unless you call the manufacturer as they may not approve the use, and juicing of avocados may void your warranty. Putting a WHOLE avocado in the Kuvings Whole Slow juicer is probably a recipe for disaster, due the seed is probably too large for the juicer to handle.

Seeds still in those avos? That is bizarre ... but you know what I found out one day, is that avocados and bananas kind of taste good together. Maybe if you added some banana sweetness it might make the avocade more drinkable.
@robertoi.20727 жыл бұрын
but if it's unripe, doesn't that mean that it is not at its peak in terms of nutrients and antioxidants? and if what you need is a firm avocado, what if you just freeze a ripe avocado in quarters??
@discountjuicers7 жыл бұрын
Correct. A ripe avocado is always best to eat. That being said, ripe ones don't juice. The primary goal in juicing avocados for me is to add some valuable fat content to the juice to get a higher uptake of the nutrients in the greens and other vegetables. Juicing frozen avocados won't make juice, and I don't recommend it.

I like my Omega NC900, but that VSJ843 sure looks nice. And it has your girlfriend's seal of approval. I'm looking for a good blender. I read about some with pulse function which prevents some heat. Please recommend a good video on blenders. Thanks.
@discountjuicers7 жыл бұрын
I would recommend purchasing a vacuum blender, they prevent the MOST oxidation. That being said, there is currently only one available in the USA at this time. As soon as more are released, i will be making more videos about them. In the meantime, see my comprehensive video review: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3TGmWCfnbt6bs0

DiscountJuicers.com Thanks John. My next juicer will be purchased through your site. I've found your videos tremendously useful. Could you also point me toward info regarding freezing fresh juices. My google research has not led me to anything concrete. The only tips I'm getting is that drinking your juice fresh is better than freezing, which is obvious. I've been freezing the juice solid (with lemon) and letting it thaw overnight for the next day or evening. But I wonder how much longer I could extend the life, and what percentage of nutrients are lost the longer the period. Btw, your skin looks amazing. It encourages me to keep juicing. I've already lost 5 pounds, and I'm pretty fit already. And I feel amazing. I'm 46 and feel like I'm 22 again.
@discountjuicers7 жыл бұрын
I would recommend if your drinking the juice in the next day or two, to vacuum seal it instead of freezing. I would only freeze juices if you need to drink them like a 4+ days later.

john, im thinking of taking my nft farm to another level and starting my own juice bar....i want to be able to cold press as well.....i like the masticating design by omega, what would you recommend for commercial use, but it is imperative for me to keep the juice as alive as possible without oxygenation....ive seen some that claim to burst the cell walls of whatever is being juiced and in theory sounded like a good way to go to ensure maximum absorption but seems like it would speed up the oxygenation process (sorry im learning as i go)....i want my customers to get the most nutrition possible while giving me as little waste as possible. oh i also need it to be able to do wheat grass and other microgreens. thanks for all your content man, i value your opinion when it comes to juicers and plant nutrition, so i know you would not lead me astray. thanks john and God bless ya
@discountjuicers7 жыл бұрын
We personally don't really offer any "serious" commercial juicers at this time. We do offer some "low volume" commercial machines. Each machine has their own pros and cons. At present time, I like the Green Star Pro for a low volume commercial machine.

DiscountJuicers.com awesome. really appreciate the response. been watching you on both channels for years. i want you to know that you are a true humanitarian my friend...being an open source for info that would take anyone years and lots of money to aquire...and that is what the true evolution of the human race is all about. true inspiration to me and many. (and i dont mind ya talkin a lot lol, makes sure you get the message across without missing any details) actually inspired me to start the farm. i want to help my area get their hands on TRUE nutrition with no chemicals ever! we are still trying to figure a way to create an organic nutrient for the nft system that can incorporate all of the fungus and beneficial bacteria to grow our greens to their peak genetic potential without the biofilm issues. i really enjoyed the video you did the open source boogie brew ingredients and think we could come up with a great nft nutrient based on a lot of those. thanks again.

Good to know.....I think I rather eat it and plant it. Besides I don't think you can give the pulp to your chickens. You are right, this is a once in a while thing. you could make it taste better by adding the ingredients from the Georgian Sauce receipe. Is this the same machine that you used to process coconuts and almonds for milk?
@discountjuicers7 жыл бұрын
Yes, I use the VSJ843 to make coconut and almond milk (mostly coconut). It does the nut milk making task most efficiently. It's one of the most versatile machines out there.

Don't plant avocado pits, they are a waste of time most often because they often will not fruit or being a hybid the fruit will not be as good as the tree it came from it.
