You're not considering ALL of the ingredients that are in them. The paper towel itself has bleach and who knows what else. Just keep that in mind when you say you know "all" the ingredients that go into your child because you don't. That's why I opt for cloth.

I did something similar when my kids were young. As they grew older, I found I still needed hand wipes. I use thick paper towels and Witch Hazel (my son has eczema) in a zip lock bag. It works great and soooo much less expensive than buying them.

Scalvert925 Yes, I use Viva brand paper towels and TN Dickinson's Witch Hazel. It contains a small amount of alcohol, but I only use it for hand wipes. My son would break out if I used anything too strong.

When I make my wipes I usually remove the paper towel innard the brown harder paper in the beginning verses the end, which is super easy to do and on quality PT it is not over-glued and so this way I save a lot of good liquid, which would have been otherwise waisted if I had removed the inner roll at the end. I hope this helps everyone, including our good earth. And thank you for posting this awesome DIY video.

Thick 100% cotton paper towels..the organic ones...which hazel, aloe Vera, distilled water and if u need a lil suds...a teaspoon of Dr bronners and ur good to go...this is the best/ safest/ gentlest option...if you want some germ protection ...get the tea tree option..or just a few drop of the essential one n ur good..or like she's using coconut oil with the mixture

just a little tip I got from I think, America'sTest Kitchen: when you sharpen your knives, especially with that type of sharpener, always keep it *away* from your food. or in this case, I'd think wet whipes. supposedly, little tiny pieces of the metal that we can't even see can get onto whatever is below the knife sharpening action. I'm certainly no expert so I have no idea how absolutely true that knife sharpening advice is, but I just wanted to pass it on! I love your videos and you have so many fabulous DIY tips and recipes! ♡-Sandi

+c. k. sandi I was taught in a culinary class that simply rinsing the knife off with water will prevent the spread of small pieces of metal :)

Yes I think that's great advice - for sure want to rinse it when you're done. I meant the little bitty particles they say can fall onto your food, cutting board, etc. So the advice was like "sharpen it away from the food instead of right over the food so no particles fall onto it"

Knife sharpener, here: I always wash blades after sharpening them. The lubricants or oils used aren't food-safe, and it's best for ensuring that any microparticles do get removed (how many of us rinse our toast plate and get all the crumbs removed?)

I used your formula and put baby washcloths, you know, the smaller thinner ones into the container by folding them into halves and poured the solution over it and used it as a makeup remover. WOW it works better then my high end makeup removers, even eye makeup !! thank you so much for this video and the formula !! I love your channel so much.

I have made them before. They're great. I use just a little water, a squirt of body wash or shower gel, a squirt of baby oil, and have also added a squirt of witch hazel for it's healing properties for skin. I have even made anti-bacterial wipes for the hands and arms. I've put just a small dab of water, a couple splashes of rubbing alcohol, and couple splashes of witch hazel. It's great because it cleanses with just enough water & all liquids combined, kills germs with the rubbing alcohol, and conditions n treats skin w/ witch hazel.

My favorite paper/kitchen towel for baby wipes is Viva. They are super soft lol I've also kept them in a gallon ziplock baggie. :) For the most part we use a similar solution in a squeeze bottle and squirt on a washcloth in the house if I choose or do not have any disposable wipes.

I use Burts Bee baby shampoo and wash, Raw Shea Butter Baby oil with Argon Oil & Extracts of Frankincense & Myrrh and of course organic virgin coconut oil with Viva Vantage cloth like paper towels. These wipes are great for everything! I like to use them for a number of things including my husband. These wipes can lift and remove grease and all sorts of stuff from your skin. My husband is a motorcycle technician and comes home covered in work. His hands are almost black with grease and grime but after a few wipes his hands are white and clean again.

I'd like something similar to remove my make up. I tried making travel cloths once. They were okay but all I did was add facial cleanser to each paper towel and sealed several of them in a zip lock bag. In my hotel room I damped one to activate the cleanser and was able to wash all of my make up off with one towel. I'll try your method, substituting my facial cleanser (I already use coconut oil for my hair so I have that). Thanks Kathryn!

I've made my own wipes before, but I used an extra wipes container I had to store them. Worked ok, but I think next time I'm going to use a better paper towel. I used Bounty Basic the first time, but I think I'm going to use Viva next time.

Does it get Mold? How long do they last say in a hot humid climate. I live in Puerto Rico and here is very hot. I really like this idea and would like to try it. But the only thing is how much will they last. Please advise, Thanks!

Distilled water's lack of nutrients can cause it to leach chemicals from the container it's stored in. If you plan to use the water immediately, most containers will do fine, but for long-term storage it's best to use glass or high-quality stainless steel. 😊

Pro tip. If you put a half teaspoon of baking soda unit it dissolves completely it gets rid of all smells completely on the area you are wiping for maximum freshness 😉

I made that. But i feel a little oily on the paper. I hope it works. Is it okay to put baby cleansing gel for wipes?

Can I use olive oil instead in the mix? I already have a lot of it in the kitchen, rather than buying coconut oil specially for the wipes.

Did you decide to make these for baby Owen, too? If so, did you use the same recipe or change it up any?

Just wondering what brand of paper towel you used? Also I bought the Parents Choice brand of baby oil from Wal-Mart and there is only 2 ingredients in them.

I was beat by my idol the frugalcrafter I was going to say this would be great in my craft area and for the kids wash their hands etc. Wouldn't flush but my 4 yr old granddaughter learning to wipe .think this would help her. Thsnks

What type of glad container are you using? Does it have a hole in the lid to take wipes out with one hand? I don’t want to spend $20ish to get a dispenser - my baby wipes have been drying out

I'm just wondering but putting soap on it isn't it bad for it to not be washed off a private part and the baby can get an infection

Would this work for "sensitive skin"? Like some baby wipes are sensitive and some have other scents or aloe.
