Yeah before they went toxic seed oils they used to just use fat.

Thank you! I haven’t tried using tallow yet, so was wondering… does it have a strong flavor or scent?

@user-iw3cg4gp3s your welcome. I would say it does have a flavor and scent but its not over powering and not anymore than like a vegetable oil would.

Could you put the lid and ring on when it’s still hot so it’ll seal or “can” itself and be shelf stable?

I dont see a reason why you couldn’t out the lid on while its hot. But keeping the tallow on the counter is only good for about a month so we always freeze whatever’s not in use because then it’ll last about a year or so. We do can stuff but haven’t looked into properly canning tallow yet. Mainly just cause we make it as we need it and go through it all in a couple months.
