It does look nice I agree. Are going to use it as a birdhouse or a bird feeder as if the two are combined the adult nesting birds will exert a lot of energy deterring all other birds from the vicinity to protect their young and eggs. If solely as a bird feeder/table, what is going to stop the wind from blowing any food or seed off the table onto the ground. Not a criticism simply an observation after all your build does look you did indeed put a lot of thought, time and effort into your project.

A great bird house. Thank you for sharing, a few dimensions would be nice, roofsize, posts etc. ;-)

Nice job. I'm curious how the thin laminated plywood holds up in the weather. My experience has been it delaminates...would be nice to see pictures after outside for a few years. Thanks for the video and ideas.
@stevenbrrtt Жыл бұрын
Simple but very elegant. Don't know why more birdfeeder makers don't apply shingles to their roofs. As for delamination, that depends on where you live and how much weather (i.e. snow and ice) your birdfeeder will have to endure. One more thing, apply the shingles to your already cut, but not yet placed roof halves first and use white pine pretreated with satin polythurane and soak it in good. That'll allow you to sand the surface you want to shingle w/o worrying about losing your full weather protection. There's no one way to achieve what you want so have at it and enjoy yourself.

Oh, and by the way, the hot glue used for the shingles will melt if the bird house is in the'sun and the shingles will slide off. Noting this from personal experience with hot glue.

it is just a piece of metal, you drill the diameter you want not far from the edge. then, you take a metal saw and saw from the edge under and angle to the hole you drilled. so, actually very easy to make :-). hope this was a bit understandable. greetings, jörgen
