love this tutorial definitely helped out alot best splatter tutorial I've seen! Anyone that was having issues seeing the results after baking like me go down to the mesh section and click bake and that should fix the issue since mine came out a red cube.

yes, also if you all are using this in your own simulations and are using different start and end keyframes which are somewhere in the middle of your timeline (say start at 20 and end at 50 frames), you might notice that there is a cube for the duration before your simulation. To get rid of this you could a) try deleting those frames by going into your cache folder (remember to create a cache folder somewhere where you can remember, and not rely on the temporary cache folder that blender creates on its own, also i have not tried this in theory this should work, but it might end up breaking your simulation as well) or b)set a keyframe for render visibility to be off till your start frame.

Just some honest feedback here: While your results are amazing and just what I was looking for. Like others have said, as advanced blender user this was very hard to follow. I would love to see this tutorial with less cuts and editing and a more clear layout of how to do this. The blender files are amazing, thank you for that: But It would be awesome if you could briefly talk about what's included with them and how to use them to get things going on our end. Thank you for doing this, again just some helpful feedback. Hope you revisit this topic as it's really needed in the blender community. Most blood splatter tutorials are very dated and your results look great.

just a note, for physically accurate blood (and other liquids), you would want to use a volume absorption node and not a scatter node

I don't get it why you have to make this so confusing. I follow every step but have never seen you bake anything. Since you do shader with the blood already I suppose you bake it before. So I did it, and then? I can't select any blood. I have a big fucking box as domain and inside the ico spheres. I see the animation playing but can't select any of this blood. Jumped over from the old videos where every one complained that they can't understand shit and wasted another 20 min trying to figuring stuff out. gg.

At various times I can't see where I clicked to get to a specific panel. The edition already shows the panel open without showing how it arrived. In domain, for example, it starts with an open panel without showing how it got there.

the liquid is not simulating even tho ive done all the settings. when i preview scene is it just a solid cube of the liquid domain. is there something i haven't checked ?

Perhaps I'm just dumb, but couldn't follow this as a beginner in blender simulation. Spent 5 minutes figuring out he clicked the Liquid Domain object to get to those tabs at 1:29. Then got completely lost at 2:20 cause I have no idea how to run the sim.

You're not dumb, it's just not a beginner's tutorial. In the domain, you need to bake data, and bake mesh, to get the full sim generated. From there, you can move your playhead along the timeline to scrub, or you can simply play it to see it run in the entirety.

I don't know what drugs this dude has taken but there's nothing to understand. You just configure the direction by selecting one of the Ico spheres -> Physics Properties -> check Initial Velocity and chose the axis below for the direction. you just put that 25 m/s or whatever in the axis you want it to go. You can enter negative values there because each axis obviously has two sides it can go (left / right, up / down, etc...).

Getting something really wacky happening with mine. When the volume scatter color is red, the blood shows up as cyan- i am setting the volume scatter to cyan to compensate. Any solution other than that?

This is pretty cool man thanks for that tute. Just one thing, as soon as I go to scale the domain, the blue dots/balls disappear. Is there a way to get them back? The only way to get them back is if I close and restart Blender which is pretty counter productive lol

You want to make sure your scatter output plugs into the volume pin of your output node, not the color of your bdsf node.
