Nicely done mate. The home made radius is awesome. Good old-fashioned simple ingenuity.

As a chippy by trade and a dabbler in woodworking I just wanna say you did a good job there. I feel your pain with the dot'n'dab wall. I have similar problems fixing wall units. I've got some nice planed 4 by 2 spare off a job so I'm gonna use the same method as you did except I'll router the circle using a jig. Then I'll use the spare timber to build two stacks down from two ceiling joists until its at the right height for me. Then fix the board to the stacks of 4 by 2 using angle brackets. Hope that makes sense. Cheers for the video

HAD the SAME BRACKET MADE, COST ME a 15 PACK of BUD LIGHT. MY POINT BEING , AFTER I INSTALLED IT. I FOUND MY HOME MADE 3" THICK, 27 LB. DRUM WAS VIBRATING EVER SO SLIGHTLY, SO I BEEFED IT UP WITH SOME 2X4 LUMBER BRACES. ALL GOOD NOW, SOLID as a ROCK.

I have access to a lot of hardwood at my work was thinking of using an oak tree 24in in diameter 3 in thick and then welding up a bracket like yours. Thanks for the video!

Nice job with making the platform, really like how you did the wood, and looks great. Shame about the wall though.

Nice and Sturdy, but personally-- I would go to the hardware store, or a Woodshop and see if I could procure a decent size piece of 3/4" Plywood; Then I would have THEM cut it, since I don't have a garage.

Brilliant job, to buy one of those in that style cost a small fortune, so really impressed with your effort. BTW, how are you getting on with the speedbag?

Hi mate, that looks perfect, nice vintage look! How much did it cost you in total? The wood is looking to be about £12 total from Wickes, £8 for 1L of wood adhesive. I just need to figure out how to get/make the bracket, where abouts can I find a welder? And where did you find the metal to do so? Thanks for your help mate, can’t wait to start mine.
@jasonhopkins37633 жыл бұрын
You can get the steel from any local steel stockists I asked them for offcuts so it only cost me £20 I then went to a local small independent body shop garage and it only took him about 10 minutes to weld it it cost me a bottle of red wine

Cananyone tell me the specific name of the steel used. I'm from U.S so it might be different. Please and Thank you.

Hi mate do the thunder bolts not require a wall plug ? My wall is solid concrete, they way u made it was really good mines only 46mm in thickness but it’s easily enough thickness I may get some plywood like you have maybe 2 bits just so it’s 70+mm in thickness what is yours thickness wise ,I’m also going to get some stick like sht and that varnish really nice finish , really good job ,it won’t take long to get better trust me takes time , those brackets are so good that is what I need
@jasonhopkins37632 жыл бұрын
Hi the thunderbolts do not need a wall plug you just need to drill the right size hole for the bolt to thread into good luck mate mine works really well

Hi there is no vibration but they are all noisy best thing to do is go to a gym try one to see how loud it is

So there are no screws left in the platform to hold the 3x3 timber together after bonding? It's just purely glue ?
@jasonhopkins37632 жыл бұрын
No mate there are no screws left in it’s purely held together with the glue it is so solid
