the thing at 06:05 is called a caulking gun. the glues and gels/silicones are called caulk or kit.

Abit late to the game here mate, but I recently got back into playing Lord Of The Rings with a few friends. I wanted to start make my own terrain watched alot of your tutorials now and they have helped so much. Fantastic work, really blown away by the detail and yet how simple it is to create, i seem to be enjoying the building side of things more so now than the actual painting models part.

Just realized this is another good use for the rocks in my yard (there's a bunch of tiny rocks in front of the house that my parents are not a fan of so I've been trying to figure out all the ways I can use the rocks in crafts to both get rid of the rock issue and make cool stuff in the process!

I'm planning to make a really huge world (for dolls rather than minis, so it's BIG) and that caulk sounds very useful since the dolls are so big that they're heavy and could squash the structure unless I use some overkill reinforcement. (Some of the dolls are 1/3 scale - HUGE! Some are over 60cm tall.)

Nice work! I wonder if you could use cheese cloth coated with plaster of Paris draped over crumpled up aluminum foil shapes or even crumpled paper and when it looks the way you want it, mist the cloth with water, let dry (hardened). Essentially it would be hollow underneath...just a thought! Thanks for the video!

Great videos, very useful and should save me a fortune. The thing is called a sealent gun/caulking gun/caulk gun if anyone needs to search for one but should be available from most hardware shops.

is there a certain kind of foam to use for this?
@magikninjafreak85018 жыл бұрын
E-4 Airman you can ho to your local building supplies and get insulation foam board. get the rigid stuff not the polystyrene(although thats ok to use but too many poly balls) and its alot cheaper than modeling foam+ it comes in 2.4meter×1.2meter boards of different thicknesses :)

Fantastic videos Luke! Old school gamer like yourself who's just got back into the scene since the early 90's! Just wanted to ask you which grasses and vegetation products your using on top of your hills and roxk outcroppings? I always get confused between flock and grass too. Some links would be great, thanks :-)

Lukes Aps Cheers Luke :-) Sorry for the late response, I've been away for a bit. I found the filler stage awkward as it wouldn't stick to the foam very well and was too thick, dry and crumbly. Wilko's cheap stuff! Managed it with fingers and a knife! When u applied filler it looked much softer and sticker - should I just try a different brand!? Thanks again :-)
