This looks so good. I've been missing Hawaii and Hawaiian dishes (and am also planning a vacation there for my wife and I later on this year) and I like that this dish is so flavorful and it doesn't cost very much to make.

After soaking my long rice, I usually cut it as I find easier to eat and I add shiitake mushrooms and/or bamboo shoots.

I make this all the time with my leftover chicken thighs and chicken pho broth. It's so good! The pho spices add an extra depth to the broth and with some fresh lime juice and cilantro on top, it's supa yum!

Mahalo for sharing this recipe! Came out some ono! I used reduced sodium broth which resulted in having to add more shoyu. 😂 My market didn’t have the bean thread noodles so I chanced it with the thin rice noodle they had and came out perfect. My entire fam loved it. Mahalo again! 🤙🏻 #shakAZgrindz

If I want to make more than 4 chicken thighs. what would you recommend the amounts for the other ingredients be? This was a favorite of my dads
@OnoHawaiianRecipes
@OnoHawaiianRecipes 4 жыл бұрын
You can increase the chicken more without adding more of the ingredients until you use 8 chicken thighs, then double the amount of the ingredients.

Aloha, I wanna make a big pot of chicken long rice to feed about 40 people, any suggestions on how much ingredients I may need?
@OnoHawaiianRecipes
@OnoHawaiianRecipes 5 жыл бұрын
Wow! That's a large party haha well you could multiply the recipe by 10 since this recipe serves up to 4. Correct me if I'm wrong but the adjusted recipe should be: 40 cups chicken broth 10 packs of bean thread 1 7/8 cup shoyu 20 cloves of garlic 10 lbs of chicken thighs 1 1/2 cup ginger 2 1/2 cup sliced green onions Hope that helps! 🤙

I think I got some bad chicken from the supermarket because I got food poisoning after eating it and I cooked the chicken completely and followed each step. I know it’s gotta have been the chicken 😭 I went to the toilet so much and felt nauseous for 2 days lol it was so yum though! Maybe I need to go to snother supermarket

Ohhh so sorry to hear you got food poisoning from the chicken >.< that's never fun! It really does sound like the chicken you got was bad. I've cooked with this recipe many times and haven't had food poisoning. But as a precaution maybe cook it a little bit longer and make sure there is no pink in the chicken.

Why is it called long rice?
@OnoHawaiianRecipes
@OnoHawaiianRecipes 5 жыл бұрын
The noodles that are used in this is called rice vermicelli which is made of rice. The "long" part comes from how the noodles are longer than normal noodles. At 2:36 you can see how long the noodles are when I take it out from the water.
