I have never seen a person other than myself use a bottom crust pie shell for the top shell. No need to make your own pastry. I add a little thyme for flavor and a little chicken broth to thin it a just a bit for my taste. I could listen to your voice all day and loved your prayer. ❤ Perfection!

Miss Gina , Today I tried this recipe and made a mistake that at first I thought would be bad, but it wasn't. My wife is bed ridden and I do all the cooking, I was busy and forgot to use the egg yokes on top of the pie and instead I used butter, it still turned out great, the top turned a flaky golden brown. Thanks for the recipe we loved it.

I'd leave the skin on the potatoes. Scrub well. All your nutrition is in the skin. Try to steam cook the potatoes too. It saves the flavor from leaching in the water. To reduce plastic waste, use fresh if you can. I'd add cream of celery too. Wonderful recipe. Maybe I'll scrap cooking and come over to your house instead! :-)
